4th day in Kauai, over to Maui!

On Friday, August 30th we had to check out of our room by noon.  They held our bags after checking out.  We didn't swim since we were flying out that evening (5pm), so we had some fun at the resort and tried to make the most of our time there.

We then went to a lei making class, which was really fun!

Then we walked the grounds one more time, and put our leis in the designated spot.  A lei should never be thrown away in the trash, as it's considered disrespectful.   The pretty parrots again.

Driving back towards the airport.  Another cool lighthouse.  We stopped at Costco for a quick bite to eat.  More chickens/roosters, even at Costco.  I love it :)

Hudson fell asleep after lunch going to the airport.  We saw a cruise ship docked.  We then dropped our car off, then took the shuttle over to the airport to fly over to Maui.  We got to ride in the Imau One, which is dedicated to the employees and people of Hawaii.  It was neat!

Waiting to board, then on the plane.  I signed up for a perk w/ Southwest through my work, and it allowed us to have priority boarding, so we were in the A (first) group to board every time.  It was awesome!  Over to Maui, we were literally the first to board, after those in wheelchairs.  We got the first and 2nd row on the left.  Though it was a short trip, they enjoyed the extra leg room.

And we're off!!

It was a short flight, then we were landing on Maui!  We then had to wait for our Turo driver to drop off his car.  He got the time mixed up (thought it was later), but we eventually got it.

In addition to the guy being late, he also only left us a 1/4 a tank.  So we stopped to get gas and groceries at Costco before going to our hotel.  The car also ran out of windshield wiper fluid the next day, and later the check tire pressure came on, so we had to stop and put air in the tires.  Steve left a review after we were done, of all the things that could have been better, and Turo reached out.  They apologized for the bad experience and actually refunded us the whole trip in Maui!  That was awesome!  We had a great experience in Kauai w/ Turo, and after their quick response and very generous gesture, we'll definitely use them again.

We were sad to leave Kauai, but happy to be in Maui.  Neither Steve nor I had been there, so we were excited to see it the next few days!
