2nd week of September

Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of September. 

Hudson finally got to start pre-school on September 9th (after getting back from our trip).

Me throwing the ball for Piper, but the boys decided to make a game out of it.  They used their shields to protect themselves, and asked that I throw the ball at them.  They think it's pretty fun!  Our windshield started to leak, so we got glue on Amazon to fix it.  So far so good :)  Steve's toe.  It's still not 100% better, but definitely better than it was in Hawaii when he hurt it.

I went into work, riding the train.  We're all now required to go into the office every other week, for the full 5 days.  I showed Nyles how to ride the train as well.  He only needs to go up 4 spots, then he gets off for Middle School and walks across the field to his school. It's working much better in that it's more efficient for us to take him to the train (only 3 minutes from our house) and saves on gas.  It's a win/win.  The boys playing at the park.

Friday afternoon, Steve, Nyles and Rob took off to go elk hunting the next day (opener for the youth).  They took the camper up and stayed in it.  Rob came for moral support, though he didn't go on the hunt, he stayed back at "camp."

Steve and Nyles woke up early (5am) to hike into a spot to find the elk.

They patiently waited, saw some, but didn't get a shot off.  They cooked up Mountain House Meals for lunch.  They forgot their forks, so used a water bottle instead.

Back at camp for dinner.  They didn't shoot an elk, but had a good time.

They stayed Saturday night, then came home Sunday morning, back in time for church.

While Steve and Nyles were gone, we went to Draper Park for a birthday party for one of Carter's classmates.  They were also having an International Arts and Crafts day at the park, so we went and explored that for a little while as well.  The boys got their faces painted and did some fun activities and got prizes.

Carter and Hudson had their primary program on Sunday, September 15th.  Dave and Joann came to see and support them, and Diane and LuDean watched via Zoom.  I had Hudson sit by us on the bench until after the sacrament, hoping he'd be more reverent afterwards.  But instead when he went up to do his part, he didn't want to do it at all.  The 2 boys in his class who went before him though, and also didn't want to do their part.  Not sure if he would have done better just sitting up on the stand the whole time.  Who knows?  Carter did a great job though talking about when he was baptized, and Steve also gave a talk about making changes.  They both did an awesome job!

That evening we took dinner to a neighbor who had another baby, then went and had dinner w/ LuDean, Diane, Dave and Joann.  It was fun to get together.
