2nd Day in Maui

On Sunday, September 1st, we went over to the Lahaina English speaking ward at 9am for church.  It was fast and testimony meeting.  They asked that anyone who came up to introduce themselves and say where they were from.  Surprisingly, everyone but 1 person that bore their testimony was a visitor.  Many were from Utah as well.  Nyles even went up and bore his testimony.  It was a great, spiritually powerful meeting with many wonderful testimonies born.  We were so glad we were able to attend.  The member who bore his testimony last said something like "even though there are many beautiful places to "worship" especially in Maui (beaches, mountain tops, jungle), it doesn't replace going to church and renewing our covenants."  I felt the power in his words and testimony, and can add my witness to his.  I'm so grateful for our covenants and the opportunity we have to partake of the sacrament meeting weekly.

Back at the resort after church.  Steve hit his toe w/ the large/heavy glass bathroom door and almost ripped his toenail off.  He stayed at the hotel and soaked it, while I took the boys swimming.

Hyatt has a condo property next to the hotel, so you can use those pools as well, which was nice.

We then went to the Tropical Plantation for a tour that afternoon.

We got to watch a coconut husking demonstration, which was neat.

Back at the hotel, Steve soaking his foot again.  Hudson playing hide and seek in our room.  Carter would help him find a spot and hide him, then I would find him.  Silly boys :)

That evening we went to an outside Hawaiian Luau, right on our hotel grounds.

The music and dancing starting, then they had us to some hula moves.  Nyles, Carter and I knew the moves because they were the same from the class we took in Kauai.  It was fun!

The couple that sat with us were from Orlando and ironically she works for Disney!  They were fun to talk to while we ate our food and watched the show.  Ready to eat our yummy Hawaiian food!  I got a little of everything.  They were all super yummy!

It was an awesome Luau!  It wasn't something we planned to do because they are so expensive, but we are so grateful we had the opportunity to go.  Steve, Hudson and I got in completely free, and we got Nyles and Carter in at discount, so we only paid for those 2.  The trade off was that Steve and I agreed to listen to the timeshare speech at the Hyatt condos the next day for 90 minutes.  We weren't looking forward to that, but we knew we could get through it.  It would be worth it! :)
