4th Week of June

Here are some highlights from the 4th week of June.

Cute Carter w/ a stuffed animal dragon named "Winger" he got from Aunt Diane for his birthday.  Thanks Diane, he loves it!

I love all our Day Lillies blooming!  A white Dianthus is also in bloom.

Carter thought it would be funny to put a mask on Hudson.
Another time I picked up Hudson to find this, haha, blowout! It was pretty good.

We have some raspberries ripening on our bushes.  Hudson just kicking up his legs before his nap.

Tuesday, my parents drove down for Joe Orgill's funeral (my mom's sister Rosanne's husband).  The next day they came over for breakfast and the boys got to give my dad is Father's Day Tie they made.  I had work that morning, then in the afternoon we went to the Jordan River Temple to go through an endowment session w/ Ava.  Afterwards we came back to our house for dinner.

Dad holding Hudson and Lincoln (they weigh the same).  Mom holding Hudson.

Steve and I at Jordan River Temple (the temple we got married in, 12.5 years ago).
Ava, Steve, Me, Dad/Grant, Mom/Cathleen, Rose, Chris and Pauline at the temple for Ava's endowment.  It was great to be back in the temple and do a session again after 15 months of closure due to Covid.

It was Mom and Dad's 46th wedding anniversary the next day (June 24th) so we sang them Happy Anniversary and got them flowers and chocolate almonds to celebrate.

We actually got some rain!  Our trees, flowers and grass loved it!
It was nice to have it cool off for a little as well from the rain.

Cute baby Hudson still loves to say mamma.  It melts my heart :)

Nyles holding baby Hudson and Carter getting loves from Piper.

Carter got a medal during their Olympics week at Summer Camp.  He thought it was really special and wanted me to take a picture of it.  Hudson likes to hold everything w/ his feet also.  Why not?

More pretty Day Lilies and Daisies, yeah!

Friday after work we went over to a splash pad for a little while.

Saturday we went up to Echo Reservoir again.  We met Stacie there and Carrie came a little after.  We even all brought our dogs to play at the water.  We weren't sure how Piper would do in the water, but surprisingly she enjoyed it.  She kept getting back on the kayaks to go for another ride.

We took turns going out on the kayaks.  I also played fetch w/ Piper.
Carter tried to help Steve row the kayak.

More fun on the kayaks.  Phill w/ their dog Mesa, and Me w/ Piper.
Hudson playing on the kayak and Piper enjoying the view.  Conor, Carter and Nyles playing in the sand.

Piper on the kayak w/ me and Stacie next to me.  It acted like it was going to rain for a while up at Echo, but it didn't thankfully.  The temperature was actually really great!  After we got back home, Nyles hosed off all the kayaks to get all the mud off.

Pretty views as we came down Parley's Canyon.

Family picture after church on Sunday (do you like how Nyles is holding Hudson's head forward?)

We went up Little Cottonwood Canyon Sunday afternoon for a stroll in the mountains.  It was 20 degrees cooler and felt great up there!  We went on a walk on the Observation Trail.  It was really beautiful up there and the weather was fantastic!

My cute boys and pretty flowers.  This time Carter is holding Hudson's head forward :)

The boys thought the gondola was cool to see.  We saw several deer on our walk.  We also saw snow.

More pictures on our walk.  So pretty!

Family picture, Steve helping Hudson w/ the water gun, and loving the view at the end of the walk.

On our walk back, we found a tepee just to the side of the walkway.  The boys thought it was pretty cool.  Hudson liked holding the water gun and getting a ride in the wagon.

They have a lot of other activities you can pay to do, but since it was Sunday we didn't.  The boys wanted to pretend to find rocks/gems in the water though.  You can tell Hudson was getting tired by the look in his eyes and he doesn't care which way the binky was in his mouth.  We left after that and headed home to get him to bed.

Great quotes about the temple.

3rd Week of June

We had a fun eventual 3rd week of June.  Here are some highlights.

Steve finished adding the hardware to our new vanity.  The new one is wonderful!  It's a lot taller/higher up, which is great!  The color is beautiful of the wood and the granite top.  It definitely makes it feel more "adult-like" in our bathroom.

Old vanity vs New one.

The pears and peaches are growing great on our trees.  We also have a few Dianthus flowers coming in.

Steve has many talents.  One of them is the ability to push a large shopping cart, with groceries, and with 3 kids hanging on it.  Good work Steve!  The boys also won FREE Helmets!

Baby Hudson has learned to move to get things.

Hudson w/ the balloon he picked up while moving around on the floor.
Cute Piper asleep on her bed.  Too tired to chew her bone.
It's so hot these days, so the boys wanted to jump on the trampoline w/ water balloons.

More pretty Dianthus in bloom and our Stargazer Lilies are in bloom and another beautiful flower in the backyard I can't remember the name of.

We hit ANOTHER record w/ hot heat here.  It is definitely HOT, especially so early in the Summer.  We also haven't received much rain/snow over this year, so we're already worried about fires, yikes.

We went to Thanksgiving Point Wednesday evening to the Butterfly Biosphere.  There were lots of exhibits about bugs.  The boys trying to move a poo ball like a dung beetle does.  A huge green bug, the boys playing w/ the lady bugs, looking at an ant close up, and Carter riding a caterpillar.

Pretending to be in a cocoon, then we went into the butterfly exhibit.  There were pretty butterflies flying around everywhere.  Besides being really hot in there, it was really cool to see.

I was trying to get a picture of the pretty blue butterflies, but they were so fast I didn't get one while flying.  Here are some other pretty butterflies and flowers we saw.

Cool butterflies getting some orange juice, and Nyles and Carter dressed up as bees.

Steve and Carter looking at some gross bugs.  The blue butterflies in action.

The boys wanted to get an ice cream when we were done, so we did.

Cute Hudson playing w/ toys one morning while Nyles and Carter watch TV.
Another beautiful Lily in bloom this week.

I ordered a 1000 piece puzzle that looks like Legos in paint jars.  It was pretty fun!

Carter has been going to Summer Camp at his preschool.  Each week is a different theme.  This week was Safari theme.  Carter's friend Colin (striped blue shirt) is there w/ him so he's having a great time!

I took Friday off work so Steve could go camping w/ the boys before Father's Day.  Well they aren't allowing camp fires (outside of designated campgrounds), so they decided to change course and go up to the cabin instead.  Two of the neighborhood boys and their dads went as well.  They decided to leave Thursday evening so they would be ready to fish early on Friday.  Steve, Nyles, Carter and our neighbor Ryan Brinkerhoff and his son Jace (Nyles' age) drove up to the cabin Thursday evening.  Dave and Joann came up Friday morning w/ his boat so they could go fishing.

Cute Hudson is enjoying Pirates Booty as a snack, so he was excited to buy more at the store.  He doesn't care which way his binky goes in his mouth (side-ways, upside down), as long as it's in his mouth he's happy :)  Hudson and I went to the store and he wanted to try on my sunglasses.

Hudson, Piper and I had a fun time together while the boys were gone.  Hudson loves his baths and naps.  I also found a new hair turban towel at the store, score!  My other one we got from Grandma Hegerhorst over 15 years ago broke and was a little well used.

I love to see the flowers in blooms and fruit trees growing.

Friday afternoon, our other neighbor, Steve Lovell and his son Tyler came up to the cabin as well.  They went out fishing and shot BB guns.  They had a lot of fun!
Tyler (red hair), Jace (hat), and Nyles.

The boys got back Saturday just before Noon.  That afternoon we went swimming at Draper Pool.  We're so happy it's open again and the new rec center connected to it is open as well.
It was a lot of fun!

Sunday was Father's Day.  The boys made Steve a "tie" in Primary and listed things they love about him.  I'm so thankful for Steve as my eternal companion, and as the father to our boys.  He is so loving and is a great example to them.

A quick family picture.

Baby Hudson also turned 10 months old on Sunday the 20th. He's been busy this past month. He finally got his 4 teeth up front and now the bottom one came through as well. He also figured out how to move around in the floor. Nothing is safe now 🙂 We love his happy, easy going attitude. He brings so much joy to our family. ❤

That evening we went up to Melanie's house for family dinner.  We had tacos for dinner and sang to the June birthdays (Jeff, Ryan, Carter and Olivia).  It was great to be together again.

Baby Hudson is on the move!

Hudson trying to get Stacie's sandal.  Cake and ice cream for dessert.
I made Piñata Cupcakes, which have lots of sprinkles inside ;)

We then had a Piñata outside for the kids.

Great quotes.
