On Sunday, September 7th, we had free breakfast at the hotel, then went back to our rooms to change to go swimming. We then called my mom to wish her a Happy Birthday. Then we went down to go swimming. Surprisingly, the water was warm, even that early in the morning.
Swimming time!
After changing, we walked over to IHOP across the street for lunch. We then got ready to head out, and took a Lyft over to Disney World at 3pm. We got tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. They allow you to enter the park at 4pm, then anyone who doesn't have a wristband for the party has to leave the park by 6pm. Then at 7pm the official Halloween Party starts with extra Halloween activities and Trick-or-Treating.
We made it, then took the ferry over to the park this time.
A couple pictures to start the fun.
Checking out the Swiss Family Robinson's Treehouse, then Pirates of the Caribbean.
Watch out for the spitting camel :) The boys wanted to get wet as it was HOT!
The magic carpets of Aladdin.
We rented a double stroller again for kids and our stuff.
Then over to Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
When we rode it back in May, we didn't get that wet, but this time we got DRENCHED! haha
Little did we know we were going to get even more drenched later that night.
Having fun in the park. Cool birds.
Then they started the Trick-or-Treating, so we hit up getting some candy spots.
They had characters at the Trick-or-Treating spots.
Then 7 Dwarf's Mine Train. It's a fun ride!
Then over to Tomorrowland Speedway! Hudson drove our car, Carter drove one w/ Steve, and Nyles drove his own. Diane sat this one out.
Hudson driving the car. We drove by Tron, and ironically, we didn't end up going on it this time.
The 7 dwarfs in the pumpkins.
We hit up another Trick-or-Treat spot, then at 10pm they had fireworks around the castle.
As the fireworks were ending, it started to rain, hard! We tried to find shelter, but we were pretty much drenched by then. We huddled under a couple umbrellas, but the wind pushed the rain around, so we still got wet. Before we left home, I asked Steve if we should bring ponchos, he said no. Not sure if they would have helped though, everyone, even those w/ ponchos got soaking wet.
Huddling under the umbrellas for a while. The party was supposed to go until midnight, but as we checked the weather while waiting under the umbrellas, it showed it was supposed to continue to rain for 2 more hours (until it closed). Finally, as it wasn't going to let up, we decided we should just head home. We made out way back over to the ferry, getting further wet, walking in the streets that were more like rivers by this time. We were SO WET!
A lady dropped one of her ponchos but didn't want to pick it up due to the heavy rain, so Steve picked it up and put it on Hudson. It helped a little :) We then got a Lyft and went back to our hotel. Some of our candy got wet, but we dried it out.
I didn't have anything dry to wipe my phone off with, so it was a little blurry from the raindrops.
Riding the ferry back. Everyone was so wet!
When we got back to the hotel, we all took a warm shower, then went to bed. Despite the rain, we all had a great time! We were excited for the next day to board the cruise ship.
