Canada/Alaska Trip

long post sorry.....

Well we’ve been back from our big trip for a week now so I guess I need to give an update. We left on Friday April 29^th. Since I had a lot to do before we left (clean, laundry, Relief Society stuff, etc) and I had a lot of meetings during the week and didn’t have time to complete everything, I took Friday off to get it all done. We then had Zach and Ali come w/ us to the airport so they could take our car back. We also had Zach check our mail every day and water our plants.

We got to the airport in plenty of time, and since I had already checked into our flight and our bag, we went straight through. There also weren’t very many people at the airport at 6pm so we walked right through security too, nice and easy. As it got closer to our flight leaving though more people showed up at the gate. Our flight was also late coming in, so we left Salt Lake about 40 minutes late. As we arrived in Seattle, we called Mark Verhagen (a member from Vancouver, Canada) who was there w/ his family to pick us up. They actually go down to Seattle here and there to shop and happened to be in the neighborhood that night. We then drove up to their home in Surrey/Cloverdale (1/2 hr from Vancouver). It was pretty late (2am) by the time we got there so we all went right to bed.

The next morning we slept in a little, then got ready and went to the new Vancouver Temple. It was dedicated exactly one year ago, April 2010. Steve was really excited to see the temple finally finished. They announced it when he was on his mission and when he went back to visit in 2008 it was of course still under construction. It’s a smaller temple but sooo beautiful! We did a session w/ Mark and Cheryl then they went to attend a sealing w/ a couple and their 2 boys from their ward. Steve and I stayed in the Celestial room for a while, then changed, looked at the baptism font, then went outside to take some pictures. When they got out of the sealing, we helped them take pictures, and then went to pick up the boys at their grandparents.

After picking them up, we went home to change, then went out to tour Vancouver. We grabbed a quick bite to eat and were on our way. Mark is a truck driver so I a great driver and tour guide mind you. We went to Stanley Park, over the bridges, to the seaside, downtown, and all in between. It was really fun to see the sites and some of the places Steve served. We ate at Red Robin that night (Steve’s request). Kind of funny, their ketchup is a lot more sugary up there, different for sure.

Sunday we went to the Surrey ward for church. Ironically there were several people back visiting the ward that Steve knew when he served there. It was fast and testimony meeting, which was nice to hear everyone’s testimonies. Steve also took the opportunity to bear his. One thing he mentioned is how an area can change. When he was serving there, there wasn’t a whole lot happening in terms of baptisms. Then one of the general authorities said the area was “white and ready to harvest,” though it didn’t really start until after Steve left. Now, there is a temple in the area! It’s incredible how the Spirit moves upon people to action when they are ready, and gradually over time they are converted. Missionary work is incredible and rewarding too! I can’t wait for one day to have a temple in Slovenia!

After church we went back to the Verhagen’s for dinner. Cheryl’s parents came over also; it was as nice dinner. Afterwards we went out to White Rock, a place along the shoreline. It was a beautiful day w/ sun shinning. People were out and about and like most of us, looking forward to spring. We walked out on the pier and skipped rocks. It was a really nice evening. As we were driving back, Cheryl’s mom called and told us the news that they had found and killed Osama Bin Laden. So when we got back we watched the news update on it. It’s crazy after 10 years they finally found him!

Monday was a really wet and rainy day. Mark had a load to take in the morning so we decided to go along for the ride. It was fun going in his truck and just talking w/ him. When we got back Mark went and took a nap while Steve played Xbox w/ the boys (Conner and Braden). I just read my book and tried to stay warm. Cheryl was teaching piano lessons all afternoon, then after dinner Mark to Braden to his guitar lesson. Once it stopped raining, Steve and I also went on a walk to the park across the street and walked around for a while. It was nice to get outside for a while.

Tuesday we basically got packed up and ready to go on our cruise. Cheryl wanted to come but had one preschool music lesson to teach so Mark dropped her off, ran some errands, then picked her back up. Mark and Cheryl then drove us to the port to get onto our Ship. I got to see some more of the area, even some not so good areas downtown.

After getting dropped off, we checked into the cruise line. They informed us that they had upgraded our stateroom, but I didn’t think much of it since I thought they had already upgraded us to a “deluxe interior.” We had paid for the cheapest they had and didn’t expect much, but when we got to our room we did in fact have a BALCONY!!!! It was awesome!!! We were sooo excited to have a balcony! The Alaskan Cruise is definitely one that great to watch from your stateroom since you’re on the inside passageway the whole time (by land on either side). We also had some goodies on our bed since Steve has cruised w/ Disney before. The rest of the day we ate, got settled in, went to the show and started trying to find our way around the ship.

The next day we were at sea the whole time. Since it was Disney’s first time sailing to Alaska, Canada has some rule that the first ship has to go around Victoria Island instead of going on the inside passage way. This isn’t that big of a deal………but needless to say, it was REALLY rocky on the ship. We would be walking and it would rock so we’d be forced to the other side. Luckily I brought some motion sickness pills which seemed to help. Apparently I wasn’t the only one though. A lot of people didn’t make it to dinner due to feeling sea sickness.

Thursday we made our way into the inside passage (calmer waters) and then into Tracy Arm to see the glacier. It was really fun to see the ice bergs in the water and the beautiful scenery too. The boat was able to get pretty close to the glacier, and then turned the boat around in a circle so all could see. It was really neat. They also had the Disney characters going around and taking pictures; we got one w/ Goofy.

Friday we made it to our first port, Skagway, Alaska. We were the very first boat of the season to get there so some of the shops weren’t open. We decided to do a tour and go to a suspension bridge. It’s a very small town, like less than 900 people, and apparently they haven’t had any births in the town for 20 some years. Once a woman is 8 months along they make her go to Juneau to delivery. Skagway only has a PA, not a DR, so I guess that’s why they do that. It’s also known for helping further the railroad, was part of the gold rush, and stationed some men there during WW11 before going over seas. The town gets about 750,000 visitors a year though, crazy huh? It’s a cute little town.

Our excursion took us across the Canadian border so we had to bring our passports of course. I finally updated mine to my married name. It cost a good amount to do so, but at least now it’s correct, and Steve thinks it looks pretty cool too. We went up into the mountains over the border and to a site where there was a suspension bridge. It was pretty neat and the scenery was beautiful. It was pretty foggy on the way back though so we couldn’t see much then. On the way back we also drove up to a viewpoint so we could see the valley better. After that we went back to get some food, then went back out and walked around the town a little. It was fun. When we got back to the ship we decided to go swimming. They actually had it heated up to 90 degrees so it was awesome! They also had hot tubs in case that wasn’t warm enough ;)

Saturday we were in Juneau. The population is just under 31,000 people and they have a McDonalds now….big I know. Apparently they had such a big turnout on the day it opened they used like 22,000 hamburgers and sold everything they had they had to close for 3 days to restock. It’s a happening place still, so say the least. In Juneau we went to the Mendenhall Glacier; it was awesome! There was a waterfall right next to it and icebergs that had fallen off in the lake. It was a short little hike from where the bus dropped us off and the sun was shinning (most of the time). It was a beautiful day! We took our time getting there and then stayed a while taking pictures. Steve of course wanted to try and get some of the ice out of the water.

After viewing the glacier, we went to the visitor’s center for a little while, then jumped back on the bus and went back to town. There we did the 2^nd half of our excursion, riding the Mount Roberts Tram. It’s an enclosed tramway gondola which takes you up 1800 feet. As long as I didn’t look down I was ok ;) At the top they had a restaurant where we got to do a wine and cheese tasting (part of the tour). There was a lot of wine out and the manager was explaining all the different kinds to us and we were like…umm can we get something nonalcoholic? At first he thought we were kidding, and then he was like oh ok, I’ll go get some fruit juice. Kind of funny, after we started getting the fruit juice others were asking for it as well. After that we went and walked around up there and looked at the animal exhibits too. We then went back to the ship and swam again.

On Sunday we were in Ketchikan. It’s population is about 7300. Since it was Sunday we didn’t want to do anything to active, so we decided to watch the Alaskan Lumberjack Show. They had 2 guys from Canada and 2 from the USA compete at different obstacles like ax throwing, chopping, sawing, log crossing, climbing a tree, etc. It was really fun and entertaining. They also had kids help with the contests which was fun to watch.

Monday was our last day at sea so we just did our own thing. On the boat we also played games here and there like scrabble, chess, and checkers (usually while eating ice cream---since it’s 24/7 and Steve loves it). They also had movies playing all the time in their theater (pretty big theater for inside a boat). We watched “Mars Needs Mom’s,” “Gnomeo and Juliet,” and “The Secretariat,” all of which were really good shows. They also had their main productions in the evening, very family oriented, things like a magician, a hypnotist, Toy Story the musical, and other Disney productions. Being Disney they had lots of things for kids to do (a kids camp basically), teenagers, families and some for adults. I think young married couples w/out kids and who don’t drink alcohol (like ourselves) are probably NOT their main customers, but it was still fun and we found things to do. There was plenty to eat whenever you wanted as well of course. The last day at sea we also learned to play shuffleboard, which I LOVE!!! Too bad we didn’t learn before that, but we still got to play several times that day. They were supposed to have a tournament but since only Steve and I showed up, we pretty much automatically won the hat. ;)

We got back to Vancouver, Canada early Tuesday morning. We decided to carry our own luggage off the ship so we were able to get right off, through security and customs. We then called Brother Verhagan so he could pick us up and take us back to Seattle. The drive was pretty quick and we got to our flight in plenty of time. Our flight was on time and we got back to SLC by 7:30pm. Dave and Joann then picked us up and we went and ate at Olive Garden (yummm…I was crazy good pasta). It was a great trip full of fun adventures but we were glad to be home and sleep in our own home and bed.

Easter Time!!!

It's been a busy couple weeks but we wouldn't have it any other way. We're really excited for this week to come to a close though since we're leaving on our Alaskan Cruise!!!! Lots to get done from now til then but it'll be worth it. Here's what we've been up to the past few weeks.

Last Monday we had a fondue party at our place. We invited some of the members of our branch. We had cheese, chocolate and Carmel and lots of things to dip. It was really yummy and fun! We then played a game of Pictionary on our white board.....good times!

On Friday we got together w/ Zach/Ali and Dave/Melissa, had a little hot dog BBQ at our place then went and played badminton at a church park. It was really fun and quite the workout too. We then came back to our place and watched "Despicable Me."

Saturday Steve helped Carrie move while I did some things around the house and worked on RS stuff. That night we went to the temple and did a session; it was good like normal.

Sunday I was in charge of our 3rd Sunday get together. Joann heard we did fondue on Monday so she asked if we could do it on Sunday too; I said sure why not. So we did cheese, Carmel and chocolate again and soup w/ it to fill us up a little more. Afterwards we colored some eggs. I'd have to say it's been a while since I've colored eggs; it was actually pretty fun. Here are some pics from the activity.

This past week I finished up my online class. I took my final on Monday, which was nice to have it over with (it took 3 1/2 hrs). Tuesday I met w/ my supervisors (several of them new) and my Coordinator and went over our new ways of getting our "numbers" for visiting teaching. Sister Beck said it best this past training meeting. She said, "Count the caring; it's the caring that counts." We're trying to do just that. I think the new attitude will help get better results.

Thursday after work Zach and Ali came over and we had a steak dinner together. It was really nice and yummy. We then played Blokus 3-D; it was fun.

Friday I had off, which was great! I got caught up on a lot of things and got to spend some time w/ Steve. I went to a baby shower that night so Steve went w/ a guy in the branch and went fly fishing. They definitely enjoyed themselves ;)

Saturday Pauline and Chris picked us up and we went out to Rose's for their community Easter Egg Hunt. We did that one, then went back to Rose's and had lunch, then our own Egg Hunt, which I liked since we got candy this time :)

After Easter Egg hunting we played some games and just visited. It was fun! Pauline and Chris had to get home for a wedding and we went over to Dave and Joann's for dinner w/ Stacie and Phill. We had pizza then they had to take London home to get to bed. Since it was still daylight Steve decided to show us where he went fishing the night before, but brought his fly fishing gear along "just in case." Well while we were there they decided to cast a couple. It was a little chilly up the canyon but the view was breath taking.

Yesterday after church we went over to Steve's sister Melanie's house for Easter dinner. Lunch was delicious and the company was great. There was also a little egg hunt for the kids. It was fun to be with family this weekend.

Still no sign of Spring......

Just when we thought it was done snowing, it snowed again. I think the groundhog was wrong this year......I don't think Spring is coming any earlier. Oh well what can you do? Other than the crazy weather/snow, here's a quick update.

This was my first week in my new position. I had some system problems the first couple days, but by Wednesday I was up and going. So far so good. The conversations come pretty easy but there are always more things to learn over time. My new teams seems pretty fun and I enjoy working with them. Besides work I've also had more Relief Society things to do and visits to more new sisters in the branch.

Steve decided to withdrawal from his biology class so he doesn't affect his GPA. His teacher is ridiculous and makes her tests extremely hard. It sounds like 80-90% of the students are failing or barely passing. I think that says a lot about a teacher and how they teach. Oh well. The good thing is that he doesn't NEED this class but it sucks that we paid for it and it's way to late to just drop it.

Saturday we had a pretty busy day. At ten we went and help pack and clean an apartment of an inactive single mother in the branch. We've been her home teacher so we felt we should go help. We then hurried and showered, changed, grabbed a bagel for breakfast, then headed down to Utah County. At 1pm we went over to the Miles house for a light lunch and reunion. Borut Lakner, from Celje, actually got called to the SLC South mission, so we got together before he's going to the MTC on Wednesday. It was fun seeing some of the sisters and elders I served with, along w/ President and Sister Weight, Sister Ferre, and the Miles of course. Here was the group.

After the missionary reunion we went down to visit Pauline, Chris and Char for a little bit. It was good chatting with them. We then went up to the BYU Art Museum to meet Steve's family to go through the Carl Bloch exhibit. It was really good, again! After that, we went over to Eve's new house in West Provo to see it then went out for dinner. We grabbed a quick bit to eat at Cafe Rio (yumm) then went to a comedy show at BYU. It was pretty funny, but I bet it would have been even funnier is we were single and attending the Y. Oh well, for $5 what can you expect. It was a fun eventful day needless to say.

General Conference Weekend

This week has been pretty busy but good. The weather can't seem to make up it's mind either......snow, rain, sunshine you name it.

I was in training all last week for my new position as CMR. It was good, but I'm glad it's over with. I'm ready to get started but unfortunately I still don't have access to all the systems I'm supposed to. Hopefully later this week I'll be up and running. I'm anxious to get started.

Monday Steve and I had a little date night/fhe. We watched Celebrity Apprentice during dinner, then went and did one of our home teaching assignments, then went and played racquetball. It was really fun! Steve said I'm getting better so it's getting more competitive (in a fun way). Afterwards we hit up the hot-tub----oh sooo nice!

Last Tuesday I had Relief Society training at the Tabernacle downtown. Since I work downtown I figured I'd just walk over after work. I had about 1 1/2 hrs in between work and when it started so I decided to go to the temple and do some initiatories. It worked out just right! I was able to do my 5 names then made it over to the Tabernacle w/ 10 minutes to spare. I met my secretary and 1st counselor there too. It was really good. Sister Beck, Allred and Thompson had some really good information to share on how to make our wards/branches function better when it comes to Relief Society.

Steve also went to the University of Utah for their Transfer Student Orientation. They had a lot of good information for him and he got signed up for 2 of his classes as well. After talking we decided to take 2 more classes at SLCC as well for the summer (since it's cheaper and he only needs a certain amount of upper division classes to graduate).

Wednesday after training I met w/ my new VT Coordinator for a couple hours and taught her some things I learned from the training we had the day before. I really liked what Sister Beck said about visiting teaching. She said, "It's the caring that counts. Count the caring." We're trying to help our sisters realized the importance of visiting teaching and to show real concern for the families they are assigned.

Thursday I also had Stake Leadership training, which was good also. The Stake RS Presidency focused on going back to the basics of Relief Society, which helped me a lot. I also talked to President Thorup (our branch president) afterwords for almost and hour about how to improve some areas of the Relief Society.

Friday was beautiful!!! We finished training early so we decided to go on a hike w/ Zach and Ali. They met us here, then we went to Subway to meet Rob, picked up a sandwich and chips, and went to the canyon. We hiked up Little Bell Reservoir, (our favorite hike if you couldn't tell), ate dinner, then fished a little. We then hiked back as the sun was setting, and rented a movie "The Tourist." It was a lot of fun; can't wait for summertime! Here are some pics.

Saturday we slept in til 10, because we could and we were pretty tired from the week. We then listened to conference all day. There definitely was some good advice given during the talks (both days). Steve decided to make fly fishing flies while watching....multitasking I know!

Sunday it was completely different (in terms of weather) to Friday. We had sooo much snow dumped on us over night it was crazy! Again we watched conference and enjoyed our time together. That night we went over to Jeff/Kim's and played "Ticket to Ride." It was fun!

There was a screw in the tire Monday morning.....urg, but luckily Steve fixed it for me while I was at work.

Spring?

It's supposed to be Spring but we got snow at least 3 times this week, including last night. What can you do?

Well this week was officially my last week in RSR. I'll start training this week for CMR and then start next week in that position. I'm excited for it and a little nervous too. I'll be learning new things but I'm sure I'll figure it out after a while.

Steve has been back to school after Spring Break last week. He also has orientation at the U this Tuesday to get his classes scheduled and used to the campus. One more month of SLCC classes then onto the U.

Tuesday after work we went to our branch temple night. We picked up a brother from the branch (his wife was gone for the week), and headed out. It was a good session even though we were small in numbers.

Wednesday night I met w/ President Thorup and the Elder's Quorum President to discuss home and visiting teaching. We had more move in's this past month so we rearranged some assignments. It was good to get things done even though it was a long meeting.

Thursday my 1st counselor and I went to welcome a new sister to the branch. Her and her husband moved down from Logan recently. They seemed like a great family.

Friday we officially booked our cruise!!!! We're going on an ALASKAN CRUISE w/ Disney!!! We're so excited!!! It'll be the first week of May! Can't wait!!!! I'm finally updating my passport to my married name too....better get back in time ;)

Steve picked me up after work and we went to visit Stacie, Phill and London. Stacie made some YUMMY chicken tortilla soup then we had brownies and ice cream for dessert (Steve actually made the brownies since he and Zack ate the ones I made the night before). After dinner Stacie and I went to Starbucks to review some math problems. She took a placement test the next day to get into a math class. She did great! When we got back we played 2 rounds of "Ticket to Ride" w/ the boys. London was so cute. As we came in Steve had a beeny on so she didn't recognize him, but as soon as he took it off she was like, oh yeah that's my Stevie Bear, and cuddled right up.

In an hour were going to a BBQ. I was going to make a cheesecake, but it didn't quite turn out, so since I made the crusts already I used them anyway. Instead I made a lemon meringue pie and chocolate pudding pie. Hope they taste well.

Well I have 2 Relief Society trainings this week. One on Tuesday at the Tabernacle and one on Thursday at the Stake. Should be helpful. Hope all is well. Keep us posted.

Changes....

Well in case you did hear, not only was Steve accepted to the U last week, but I also got offered the CMR position as well. This was actually my 3rd time applying for it, but most have to apply several times before being accepted. In this position I'll be supporting our customers who have managed accounts through Fidelity. We're the relationship side of the managed accounts so customers can call us when they have questions about their accounts, plus we call them at least annually to make sure they're in the portfolio that best suites their needs. The great thing about this position is that it shouldn't require overtime and I'll still be paid more than before. It's kindof ironic how things work out. The same week we decided for Steve to apply to the U, my position posted. And the same week Steve got accepted I got the position. We'll now be able to pay for the increase tuition cost at the U (it's double what SLCC is now)! The Lord truly does bless us.

Last weekend we drove up to Idaho so see my nephew Wade get baptized. I took Friday off so we could head out in the morning. We left by 10 am and got there by 3:30 pm or so since we stopped a couple times on the way. When we got there dad was cooking a turkey in the big dutch oven that we gave him last year. Steve helped him finish cooking it, then we had it for dinner. Grandma Hegerhorst came over too. The food was great and the company was even better! After dinner we played a game of "Ticket to Ride" w/ grandma, then we had to go home. We then watched a movie w/ dad (we brought some of Dave's up for him to watch).

The next day Steve went out w/ my dad to shoot some birds and ended up trapping gophers too. I worked on my homework paper most of the morning, then in the afternoon we got cleaned up and headed over to the church for the baptism. There was a good turnout for it and the meeting went well. Steve even got to give a talk on the Holy Ghost, which turned out really well. We were glad to be there for him on his special day. Barbara and Rich came down and stayed the night which was fun. We went back to the house and played some games, mainly Kristi, Barb and I. Good times ;)

On Sunday during sacrament meeting Wade was confirmed by my dad. It was neat to see his confirmation. After church we went home and had lunch w/ my parents, then packed up and went home. It's always a fast trip but a good one.

This whole week Steve has been off on Spring Break. He has gone to his parents and walked their dog Bailey a couple times and mainly been working on our bathroom wall/light. We put in a new light above the mirror, but unfortunately their was as whole in the wall so he's been dry walling it again. He's still not done but it's looking a lot better.

On Monday the 14th Steve and Rob picked me up after work and headed up to Stacie and Phil's for dinner. They made hamburgers, yumm, then the boys headed to Home Depot to get supplies to make a frame for their 2nd bathroom. Well the boys were gone quit a while and Stacie and I were upstairs w/out our phones (which they tried to call several times), so they just came home empty handed. They were trying to get wood that looked like their bathroom cabinets but couldn't find anything they liked, hence they came home empty handed. The good news is they know more about what they're trying to find. They also want to put stones in place outside so they can put a BBQ on it. We then all watched the last of the final episode of the Bachelor. It was a fun evening and good to spend time w/ them.

Tuesday after work (I stayed late), Steve went w/ me over to the church where we set up tables, chairs and put tablecloths on for our Relief Society Dinner the next day. We also gathered up the plates, napkins, forks, etc that we were going to use. I then talked to President Thorup for a while, since I wasn't there on Sunday. Steve was pretty hungry by this time, so we went over to Red Robins for a burger and fries. Yumm!

Wednesday I came home early from work in order to make it to our RS Dinner and help make sure it was all set up. I had noticed we had flower arrangements in our RS closets, so I had Steve get them out and put on the tables for centerpieces (the tables looked incomplete w/out them). We had a really good turn out for the dinner too. A lot of sisters brought food for our potluck, then we had a music number, and speaker, Sister Thorup. She talked about how to get to know other people and be kind and charitable in small ways. It was really good. We then had a couple games while we ate cake and ice cream. The whole night turned out really well, especially for our first BIG RS event.

Thursday I organized a St. Patrick's Day potluck at work. We put our lunches together w/ our team meeting and ended up eating while watching games of the NCAA and The Office. A guy on my team even made corned beef and cabbage in light of the holiday. It was alright but definitely not my favorite. I also had an interview assignment I had to do w/ another girl from my online class. I think it went well.

Friday I took the day off so I could get caught up on some things, and to spend time w/ Steve since he didn't have class. I also met w/ my new secretary, Cara, to go over some things. We went grocery shopping and watched a movie over at Dave/Joann's and invited Rob over. We then played "Ticket to Ride."

Saturday we did some cleaning, played racquetball, then went over to Dave/Joann's again. I also finished homework and did some RS stuff.

Today we got a new counselor in our branch presidency and I got 5 new sisters called to different positions. My secretary was sustained, 2 temple coordinators, my visiting teaching coordinator, and compassionate service leader and assistant. Several our moving out and lots have moved in recently so we're trying to juggle it all. Having more sisters in callings helps out a lot though. After church we had our Munch and Mingle, then we headed over to LuDean's for dinner w/ all Steve's family. Dave made his yummy ribs, then Joann gave a good lesson on prophets.

Well this will be my last week in my current role, then I'll start training on the 28th for my new role. I'm excited to get started but every role has a learning curve. Steve is excited to get back to school as well. He'll be doing full time school until next fall in order to finish his Bachelors, but it'll be nice to get it over with. Hope all is well. Hike and stuff

Well first things first.....Steve has officially been accepted to the University of Utah for this Summer semester! After he takes a couple classes Summer Semester we'll then apply to the College of Health in the Department of Health Promotion and Education w/ an emphasis in Emergency Medical Services. He'll get to take an EMT class this fall, which I'm sure he'll like. We're excited to get things going and get working on his Bachelors, which we plan to finish next Summer or Fall. I'll also be done w/ my MBA by next March....yeah!!! Then after his Bachelors we'll apply for PA school.

Besides school, Steve and I enjoyed last week together for once! Since Steve is no longer working and I'm taking an online class we have more time to be together at home; it's so great! We spent Monday just relaxing and Friday we even went on a date! It's been 6 months basically since we've had a Friday night together, crazy how fast time goes. Steve met me at Gateway where we then went to a movie. I had gotten the tickets during my lunch so we were ready to go. Plus it was the 5:30 pm showing which gave us Matinee prices, yeah! We invited Rob (and others to come) but only Rob ended up making it. Afterwards we picked up some food at Rumbi's then went back to our place to play "Ticket to Ride." Zack and Ali came over to play too. It was a lot of fun; love that game!

Saturday we slept in, then went on a hike up Little Bell Reservoir. It was kinda sunny and we wanted to get out (and Steve wanted to fish), so we chose to go a hike. The pathway was still somewhat snowy, but it was a great hike nonetheless. When we got to the top there was another couple just finishing fishing. Steve said they scared away all the fish though, but it was still fun. There were cute duckies in the pond too.

When we got back from hiking, we hurried and cleaned up and headed to the Jordan River Temple to do some initiatories. It was a great experience and the peace there. It's definitely one of our favorite places to be! Ironically there were ducks outside of the temple too, just eating the nuts by the trees. I think they were following us....:)

We also got our other blinds in and put them up! They were for the living room blinds, which are HUGE!!! They are like 100 inches wide and 86 inches tall! The old ones were basically broken since we moved in, but since they're so humongous and a little expensive due to their size, we've been dealing with it. Here are some pictures.

We're excited to go up to Idaho this weekend for Wade's Baptism. We're so proud of him and his decision and want to be there to support him. I've also got LOTS of callings to make this next little bit. We've had a bunch of sisters move in these past couple weeks and will also be having several of my main sisters moving this month. I know the Lord will help me. I need to just trust in Him and know I'll be able to find replacements and train them even better than the last.
