Last Week of August

We wrapped up the rest of August.  It was a hot, busy month, but full of fun as well.  Here are some highlights.

After getting home Saturday late afternoon, we got ready for Sunday.  Sunday morning we left at 8am to head up to Midway for Chandler's mission farewell talk.  It was great to hear him speak and bear his testimony.  He leaves for the San Bernardino, CA mission on September 10th.  After sacrament meeting we went over to Melanie and Brandon's house for brunch.

Steve, Rob and Jeff enjoying the swings after the farewell.

Pretty sunflowers.

Nyles, Conor, and Carter playing on the swings now.

On Wednesday, August 28th we were planning to attend the temple and see Chandler go through the temple for the first time.  The session was down in Provo though, so we didn't make it due to traffic.  It took Steve over an hour to get home from his rotations at LDS Hospital, then we would have had another hour to get to Provo.  Dave called and said it took them 2 hours to get down to Provo due to an accident, so we shouldn't even try.  Rob was already planning to come over to watch the boys so we could go to the temple, so we figured we should still plan on it.  We decided to go to Draper instead since it's only 10 minutes away.  We had dinner together w/ Rob, got the boys mostly ready for bed, then headed out.  We made it w/ plenty of time :)

Steve and I at the Draper Temple.

Friday night Pauline asked us to watch Ezra and Charlotte overnight so they could go out and have a "babymoon" before the baby comes in just over a month.  We ordered pizza after I got home from work, then played.  Steve left w/ Dave and Rob after dinner to go help Stacie/Phill move the rest of their stuff out of storage and into their new home.

After it cooled down we went outside to play in the backyard.  Charlotte and I played Bocce Ball while Nyles, Carter and Ezra built a house out of PVC pipes (supposed to be for ladder ball).

Charlotte jumping on the trampoline while they build.

I helped them make doorways.

Our cute pear tree growing strong!  3rd year after planting it.

And our peach tree full as well.

The next morning they wanted to keep playing in their "house."  This time they made it their parking garage for their bikes and scooter.  Nyles also taught Ezra how to ride the scooter on the back patio!

 Silly boys!

That morning Steve and Rob took their boats out again w/ their new propellers to get new footage.

Good reminder.
