Labor Day at the cabin

After church on Sunday we decided to head up to the cabin overnight since we all had the next day off for Labor Day.  On our way up we thought we'd stop at a few places as well.  We've driven by Bridal Falls several times but never stopped so we did this time.  It's a beautiful waterfall.  The water sprayed up and it felt cooler standing even at the bottom of it on the walkway.

Bridal Falls!

Beautiful view!

My cute boys!

We then stopped at the Strawberry River to see the Kokanee Salmon "run."

They are starting to turn red.

Walking back on the boardwalk.

Once we got to the cabin through the gate, Steve let Carter help him drive the rest of the way in.

The boys were so excited to go on an ATV ride so we went shortly after getting there.

After dinner we went outside and had a little FHE lesson from "Come Follow Me."
The boys ate a frozen yogurt Gogurt while we did so.

Dave and Joann decided to come up that evening as well.  They got there just after we put the boys to bed.  We played a game before going to bed.  Beautiful sunset.

The next morning Dave and Steve went out fishing.

They started catching fish a couple hours later.

Dave in his element.

After breakfast we went out on the boat w/ Steve and Dave.

The boys were excited for a boat ride and to go fishing.

Nyles caught one, but it jumped off just before we could reel him all the way in.

We thought we were catching more fish, but we hit an island and all the down riggers were hitting bottom.  Carter wasn't feeling well about this time (motion sickness), so we decided to call it.

Getting the boat out of the water.

Carter starting to feel better.  Dave and Nyles w/ the fish.  It was a Kokanee Salmon, and it was starting to turn pink as well.

Nyles was excited to help Grandpa gut the fish.

After we got back, we cleaned up and headed out.  Unfortunately we hit MAJOR traffic on the way home and it took us FOREVER to get home.  We were literally at a stand still going down both Daniels Canyon and getting to Provo Canyon.  We stopped and ate in Heber thinking it would pass, but it didn't.  Besides it being SLOW on the way home, we all had a great time!  It's crazy that was the last Holiday of summer already.  On a positive note though, we're all looking forward to some cooler temperatures again of Fall.

Looking over towards Midway.
