Here are some highlights from the last few days of the week, finishing up the month of July.
On Friday, we went to the Draper temple w/ Pauline and Rose to do sealings. They combined us w/ 2 other couples since a sealer called in sick. We didn't get to do as many family names as we'd hoped, but it was still a neat experience. Every person/couple brought family names to have them sealed to their spouses or parents. The Spirit was especially strong for me when Steve and I were sealing the kids to their parents. I felt the Spirit strongly, telling me they were so thankful to finally have the opportunity to be w/ their parents again. We are so blessed to not only have the blessing of sealings in our own life, but to bless the lives of our distant family as well. We're so thankful that temples are open again and that we can do temple work again.
Hudson likes to sit on Nyles. Rose, Chris, Pauline, me and Steve at the Draper Temple after doing a sealing session.
Friday afternoon, Nyles went w/ Conor to celebrate his birthday. London Claire, Nyles and Conor getting a bite to eat for his birthday. They also got "rainbows" which are slushies w/ ice cream
We ran some errands after getting back from the temple.
Hudson thought it was pretty fun to drive the car in Home Depot. He makes the funniest faces!
Saturday we went and picked up Nyles in Centerville, then decided since we were up there we would try a new little hike. Unfortunately it was SUPER HOT, so we didn't make it as far as we would have hoped. We still saw some cool things, but we'll have to try it another time, maybe in the fall or winter, when it's not so hot on the side of the mountain. There was shade later, but not the whole way, which made it even hotter.
Cute boys on our way up the mountain. We found a little pond and some shade thankfully.
I carried Hudson up on my back. He was a little trooper. We stopped when got to the creek.
Hudson liked playing in it. There was a little waterfall as well.
Carter, Nyles and I hiked up a little ways further and found an old wrecked car in the middle of the creek. We also found a lizard.
Hudson fell asleep on the way back down. Steve found a lizard also while waiting for us to return.
Unfortunately Steve doesn't do well in the heat and got heat exhaustion. I drove us home, then Steve went down to the basement to cool off for a while.
Cute baby Hudson taking a bath. He likes to splash in the water.
Sunday, we went for a couple little nature walks. We decided to try some more new places, and went down by Payson for a new adventure to Grotto Falls. It's a short walk (0.6 out and back) to a pretty little waterfall. We've never been down there, on the Nebo Loop Scenic Drive, so it was neat to see. It was shaded the whole time as well, which was nice. You can tell there was a fire that came through though, probably last year. It was a fun though.
Carter and Nyles our on walk. Baby Hudson strapped to me on the walk, and trying on my sunglasses. Pretty view of the forest.
Family picture at the waterfall.
We got to cross 3 different bridges as well, which the boys thought was fun.
Cute boys!
There were lots of fun things to see on our walk through the forest.
We also stopped by to see the Payson Temple on our way out.
We then stopped at Dripping Rock Trail, which was really fun. It's by Spanish Oak's Golf Course. It's paved the whole way so we could take the stroller. You can start by going through a tunnel, which the boys thought was fun, then up the hill a little. At the end of the rock wall are the "dripping rocks."
Trying to get a family picture. Notice Hudson putting his hand up, then pulling Nyles' hair, then doing it one more time. He just can't resist; he loves pulling hair, especially Nyles' hair. Gotta love Carter's silly faces as well. Oh I love my boys!
Carter put together the giant firetruck floor puzzle all by himself. He's getting really good at puzzles (after my own heart). Great reminder to have faith AND works.
