On Thursday, July 29th we went up to Bear Lake for the day. Usually we go up to the North Beach on the Idaho side, but since they increased the price from $5 to $14, we wanted to explore other options. We also just bought a Utah State Park Pass since we've been going to the different reservoirs w/ our kayaks and Steve will also be going w/ his boat this year to duck hunt and fish. Our pass lets us into Rendezvous Beach on the Utah side for free, plus Steve and the YM just went there and had a great time, so we decided to try it this time. When Steve drove up, they went through Evanston, Wyoming, which is faster and you don't have to go through the windy Logan Canyon. We decided to go the same way going up as a family. It was fun to see different areas we haven't yet and try something new. The beach is very similar to the Idaho side, but they have running water and toilets, which is awesome! They had it roped off so you couldn't drive right up to where you set up, but it was for your own safety so you don't get stuck in the sand. It was cloudy most of the time, and we thought it was really going to rain one time, but thankfully it only rained a little. It cleared up after that and the weather was great! We had a fun time riding in our kayaks out and around the floating inflatables. The boys also had fun playing in the sand.
After setting up "camp" we had lunch. Hudson getting a bite to eat, about ready for a nap. Our kayaks ready to go, and Carter and Nyles shoveling in the sand.
