June Family Fun 2nd Half

The rest of the month was good to us as well.  Here are some highlights.

Carter and Nyles playing in the hammock.

Pretty Day Lily bloomed! Carter jumping on the bed at Grandma McGrath's house.

Silly Carter and Nyles eating Cheetos.

Nyles at his swim lessons.

Nyles loving life at swim lesson.  And Carter discovered Nutella toast!

Carter and I swinging, and Carter driving the tractor at a park.

Carter on the tire swing and going down the slide.

Nyles and Carter on the swings.

Nyles helping Carter drive the tractor.

We had Pauline/Chris over for dinner.  While we were playing a game, Steve went outside to play w/ Nyles and Ezra.  He made them swords and shields to fight with.

Ezra and Nyles attacking Steve.

Purple Day Lily now blooming, and our peaches growing.

And our pears growing too!

Another great quote from President Hinckley.
It's so HOT!  Showing 105 degrees in downtown SLC.

We decided to do a quick trip up to the cabin Friday after work.  Thankfully Carter slept the whole night, and thus so did the rest of us.  Rob came up as well.
Nyles playing w/ the cabin toys, and Steve cuddling on the couch w/ Carter.

Nyles and Carter just relaxing at the cabin.

After breakfast we took the boats out for a ride.  Nyles went w/ Rob in his boat.

Steve, Carter and I went in Steve's boat.
Carter had to have a sucker of course, and some chips.

Getting a snack and some water.

Carter and Nyles eating some chips while out for our boat ride.

Carter and I enjoying the ride.  Carter w/ some seriously cheesy lips.

We stopped at a cove and climbed up some rocks for fun along our boat ride.
Nyles and Carter exploring from the rocks.

Nyles on the rocks.

Back at the Cabin, Nyles using his binoculars to see what's out there.

Now using the slingshot.

Rob trying to teach Nyles how to shoot a BB gun.

On our way home from the cabin we stopped at Melanie/Brandon's house for Olivia's Hawaiian birthday party.  They had a big water slide to play on too.

Steve being silly w/ the Hawaiian skirts (looks like someone from Duck Dynasty).  Isaac was really sweet and took Carter down on the water slide with him.  Carter didn't really care for it though, but he did stand on the edge and bounce a while.

Carter liked the real slide better, and the swings.

Carter, Jeff and Ethan on the swings.

Carter, Nyles and I on the trampoline.

The girls w/ their hula skirts.
Back: Melanie, Stacie, Kim, Carrie, Penny
Front: Olivia, London, Alexa and Lyndsey.

On the way back the boys being silly, fighting over the blanket pulling it w/ their teeth.

Most of Nyles CTR 5 class at church.
Front: Jane Chipping, Addie Bradford, Jace Brinkerhoff, Nyles McGrath.
Back: Bode Jensen, Everett Nielson, Zoee Gatherum.

One morning Steve took the boys over to Wheeler Farm to play.
Carter and Nyles playing on the playground.

Nyles being cool w/ his sunglasses and helping Carter walk around.

Nyles showing Steve which was to go using the map of Wheeler Farm.

Cute Carter driving the tractor and eating a sucker.

Now Nyles' turn to drive the tractor.

Ready for a tractor ride.

Here they go!

A deer ate all our Day Lilies that just bloomed.  How rude!

Steve had his interview for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound program on the 13th of June.  About a week and a half later he heard back from them.  Apparently they originally had 11 spots for the program, but somehow after the Interviews they were only allowed 9 spots (the hospitals they work w/ affect this).  They told Steve that he was #10, the alternate.  They told him one girl is waiting to see if her husband gets accepted to another medical program, and if he does she'll drop the course.  If she drops, Steve will be the one to fill her spot.  Steve did such a great job in his interview and is so well prepared for this program.  We are just praying this other lady's husband will get accepted out of state, so Steve can fill her spot.  Win/win right?  We might not know officially until September, so until then we wait and pray.  If he doesn't get in, then we'll start praying about what else the Lord wants him to do at this point in his life.  We know the Lord is preparing him for something great that will bless both him and our family.  We have faith in his timing, though at times it can be hard to accept.

Great quote.
