June Family Fun 1st Half

June has been a fun busy month.  We're glad it's finally summer so we can enjoy the outdoors more.  Here are some highlights.

We went over to a new park to play one evening.

We had a 11th Branch reunion one Saturday afternoon at a park close by.  It was great seeing everyone again.  We lived in the branch 7 years, which is a record for most people.

Nyles went to a birthday party for Ryder Anderson.  He and his parents used to live by us here in Sandy, but then moved in w/ their parents.  Nyles climbing the walls.

On June 10th, Steve's dad Dave was actually set apart as a bishop of a single adult ward in Midvale.  We went to the sacrament meeting where he was sustained the new bishop (splitting the ward), along w/ all of Steve's siblings.  Since it's a single's ward, we were the only ones w/ kids.  Everyone was looking at us funny, wondering if we were in the wrong ward.  Surprisingly the kids did really well and were actually quiet during the whole meeting.  Carter went from lap to lap and had the most fun feeding Stacie Fruit Loops cereal.  It was neat to hear both Dave and Joann's testimonies, along w/ the counselor's and their wives.  

After sacrament meeting was over, we all went into the Stake President's office where they set Dave apart as the new bishop.  Though it was a few hours of trying to keep the kids quiet, the Spirit was really strong and it was a really uplifting experience.  It was almost as if we were in the temple together, in that the Spirit was so strong.  It was a neat experience to have together w/ Steve's family.  It definitely brought us closer together as a family.  After being set apart, since we were together already, we invited everyone over to our place for dinner.  Stacie/Phill and Dave/Joann were the only ones able to make it but we had a good time.  We cooked up some ribs, baked potatoes/carrots mix, and dino nuggets for the kids.  Thank goodness for Instant Pots!  Dave later gave Stacie and Steve father's blessing after dinner.  It was a great Sunday and one we'll remember.  I'm so thankful for the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ!
