Nyles fell asleep on the way home. I think he was a little tired.

On Friday, January 19th it started to rain, then it turned into snow. Luckily I was able to make it home from work before it started to snow. As it started to snow it quickly picked up pace. Before we went to bed that night we had a decent amount of snow.
The snow amounts Friday night before going to bed.
Much to our surprise it kept snowing all night and we had a LOT more in the morning. They said to expect 3-5 inches, but we got a foot! Nyles was so excited when he woke up that morning, he wanted to go out right away. After getting a quick breakfast and getting bundled up, we went out to shovel.
Typical Steve, still in shorts though it's freezing outside.
Steve and Nyles starting to shovel the driveway.
Carter was so excited to go out and play, mainly because Nyles was excited. Much to his surprise it was hard for him to move around being bundled up, and because the snow was so deep. Plus he kept falling over and realized it was cold on his face. Poor little guy. After being out for a little while he was done, so we took him inside for a nap, and we keep shoveling. Nyles on the other hand had a blast walking through the deep snow!
Carter not sure what to think of the snow, and Nyles in heaven in the snow!
Now walking around to the backyard. It was deep!

Nyles then went and pushed his truck around in the snow. I actually went and used the snow shovel to create paths for him to go on, since the plows hadn't been around yet. While I was doing that Steve and the neighbor shoveled our other neighbor's driveways.
Lots of snow!

Seeing the depth of the snow behind our gate, and using a rule to measure it.
I was extremely grateful it was a Saturday that the snow came, so I didn't have to commute into work. Nyles wanted to go sledding, but since it was Saturday, the parks were FULL of kids, probably too many kids, sliding down the hills. So Steve waited a couple days and took the boys one afternoon while the older kids were still in school (Nyles only goes to school half a day). A lot of the snow had melted by them, but there was still enough to sled on.
Nyles ready to go down the hill.

Here he goes!
Nyles and Carter going down together now.
Carter still wasn't sure about the snow or sledding.
Steve w/ the boys.
Down they go! Lots of fun!
The next weekend Steve, Rob and Dave went ice fishing up at Echo Reservoir. Nyles decided to stay home this time since it was going to be cooler. He said he likes fishing better when it's warm. So he stayed home w/ Carter and me. Though they didn't catch as much fish as they would have liked, they all still had a great time.
Steve, Rob and Dave plenty warm in their ice shanty.
