4th Week of March

Here are some highlights from the 4th week of March.

Hudson typing at my desk.

The 3 boys going down the slide together.

Our Daffodils are blooming; I'm so excited!  Cute Piper, so ladylike while chewing on her bone.  Hudson wanted to come sit on my lap at my work desk and type.

Nyles went to Martial Arts on Monday night instead of Tuesday night so he could attend a swim birthday party on Tuesday at the rec center.

We ordered snorkeling gear for each of us to take on our cruise coming up at the end of April.  The boys wanted to practice with their snorkeling gear, so we thought the pool would be a great place to try it.  Nyles mostly played w/ the kids at the birthday party (and snorkeled some), while Steve helped Carter practice swimming and use his snorkeling gear.  He is catching on quickly!

Carter snorkeling.

While they were gone at the pool/birthday party, Hudson and I played outside.  Hudson drew w/ chalk for the first time.  Then we went over to the sandbox and played a while.  He LOVES to throw the sand!

Great quote.  More Daffodils in bloom.  Carter at preschool where they did a Magic Show.  My work, Fidelity Investments, sent me another package.  This time I chose some fitness equipment.  So fun!

Nyles and Carter also got another stripe on their belts.  They're working hard and doing a great job!

The weather warmed up later in the week, so we enjoyed more time outside on the trampoline.

On Friday, I took work off so Steve could attend a virtual conference (a test prep course).  Nyles had online learning that morning as well.  After lunch Colin and his brother Austin came over to play for a couple hours.  They are the same age of Nyles and Carter, which is great!  It got up to 80 degrees that day, but they still went outside and played for a while.  Nyles and Austin went on a bike ride then played w/ the water guns.  Carter and Colin played in the sandbox.  They all played on the trampoline as well.  More of our Daffodils are blooming in the front yard as well.

On Saturday we walked over to the school to play on the playground while Steve was doing his conference.  The boys had a lot of fun, especially on the Spinner.

Great quote.  We got the water table out since it was so warm, hot really.  Hudson LOVES playing in the water!  Speaking of water, we were downstairs while Steve was listening to his conference on Saturday.  I was organizing the toys and the boys all went upstairs.  I asked Nyles and Carter to watch Hudson for a minute while I finished up.  I was talking to my mom and noticed it was quiet, so I went upstairs to see what they were up to.  Nyles and Carter we playing in the living room, but didn't know where Hudson went.  I went up by the kitchen, other living room, and upstairs, but still couldn't find him.  I came back down by Nyles/Carter and noticed the door was closed by the laundry room.  We usually keep it closed to keep Hudson out, especially out of the bathroom.  I opened the laundry room door, then opened the bathroom door, and found him like this.  He was playing in the toilet (you can see his hair is wet along w/ the trash can), and he unrolled all the toilet paper off the roll.  The floor was wet and half of the toilet paper was wet and some of it was even on the wall.  Oh Hudson!!!  We have to keep our eyes on him at all times, that's for sure.  He's getting better at walking though, and reaching things.  We love him so much!

Friday night we went over to the church to play Pickleball with our ward.  It was a lot of fun!  Nyles and Carter played w/ me too.  The boys practiced shooting the Carp bow as well.  On Sunday we went over and had dinner w/ LuDean, Diane, Dave and Joann.  Steve cooked up ribs; yumm!

3rd Week of March

Here are some highlights from the 3rd week of March.

On Monday, March 14th we had our entire roof taken off and completely replaced.  They were at our house by 6:30am, and started by 7am.  It's an understatement to stay it was noisy.  Thankfully I blocked out most of my calendar so I didn't have many formal appointments.  I had 2 in the afternoon and they were almost done, plus the clients were understanding.  The noises were pretty loud at times.  It felt like you were in a war zone or something.  It made us all a little tense, including Piper.  We were really happy though they were able to get it all done in a day and we didn't have to deal with it any longer.  Ironically Hudson slept through the noise and actually took his naps.

Taking off our old roof, which was over 30 years old.  Steve counted they had 8 men working on our roof at one time.  The rest of the time they had 6 men working on it.

Making good progress.

Just about done.

On Tuesday, we had people come and replace our rain gutters as well.

Cute Hudson playing w/ a play chainsaw.

Carter drew this truck.  Good work Carter!  Good quotes.

Our new activity to do during my lunch break is to go blow bubbles w/ Carter and Hudson.  They LOVE it!  They enjoy going down the slide as well.  More of our Crocuses are in bloom again!

Hudson found a new "pooping corner" between the couches.  Great quote.
Cool moon above the mountains.  Hudson playing w/ Steve's shoes.

Hudson playing w/ the chainsaw.  Good quotes.  Blowing bubbles again.  Hudson is getting it!

Carter and Hudson playing in the sandbox.
Hudson figured out how to pull out the vacuum cord.  More Crocuses!

St. Patrick's Day fun: the boys had green pancakes for breakfast, then the boys had fun activities during school, including making rainbows.

Piper waiting outside our bedroom while I work.  She likes to join me in our room, especially in the afternoon when the sunshine is coming in.  Yep, more beautiful Crocuses.  Carter made a treasure map during preschool.  Good work!

Thursday night I went over to Pauline's house to visit w/ her, Barbara (who came down), and Rose.  It was great to see them all and visit for a while.

Friday afternoon, I got off work a little early so we decided to go on an adventure up in Ogden.  We were debating if we had time to stop by the Hill Aerospace Museum since it closed at 4pm, but we decided to go, even for 35 minutes.  Ironically right as we got off the freeway there was an accident.  Soon we could see a firetruck and ambulances coming up the freeway, since the museum is right next to the freeway.  We were thankful we decided to get off and go through the museum.  It definitely makes you think we could have been in the accident had we not gotten off.

We were all amazed how BIG the planes were!

It was really neat to see the different planes from history.  We didn't have much time, so we'll have to go back another time.  Thankfully it's a free museum so we can go anytime.

We then went on the side road around the accident, which was still backing up traffic.  We then went over to the Ogden Nature Center.  The boys earned some free passes by reading, so we decided to go.  It closed at 5pm, so we also only had 30 minutes, but it was still fun.

We went over to the observation tower and saw different birds.  They also had Golden Eagles to see, which was neat.

They had cool birdhouses along the path too that people made.  Plus other spots to see different animal life.  We saw mostly birds.  It was great to get out and see something new.

Cute Hudson sleeping w/ his legs between the bars of his crib, then up on them.

Sunday we had dinner w/ LuDean and Diane.  Diane helped the boys make St. Patrick Day magnets (the week before actually).  Thanks Diane!  We played a game then stopped by Dave/Joann's to drop off a few things.  Carter wasn't feeling well, so Dave helped Steve give him a blessing.  Earlier, Hudson thought it was funny to take my shoes.

2nd week of March

Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of March.

Nyles had 2 birthday parties that he attended this past week.  The first was a pool party on Monday evening at the rec center.  Steve took Carter along as well, and helped teach him more about swimming since he technically hasn't had lesson yet (due to Covid).  They all had a good time and Carter did awesome learning how to swim.  Then on Saturday, Nyles went to another birthday party at a Ninja course place.  They got to do different obstacles along the course.  Nyles thought it was a lot of fun.

Carter and Nyles got another stripe on their belts.  Good work boys!

We got a little snow again.  Hudson likes to throw his food w/ a little attitude sometimes.  He thinks it's pretty funny.  He's got a pretty good arm I'd have to say.  At least Piper is a good vacuum so we don't have to sweep as often :)

We're getting ready for our Disney Cruise next month.  We found Steve's old snorkeling gear and all the boys had to try them on.  We got out a carry on suitcase to start packing and Hudson wanted to pull it everywhere.  He thought it was pretty fun!

Silly Hudson playing before settling down for bed.  More snow.  Carter's class and another preschool class at his school were visited by the Draper Fire Department.   He thought it was awesome!

More pics w/ the firefighters.

Great quote.  Carter and Nyles having so much fun playing cars together.

Hudson loves to give Piper treats.  Hudson is starting to walk more thankfully.  He also likes to move things, such as this trash can, or my oven mitt.  You never know what he's going to grab.  He's a busy body so you have to keep your eye on him all the time.  He's been teething again, but even through it, he can find a smile :)

Hudson loves the vacuum and trying to learn to use the scooter.

On Saturday, Steve took Nyles and Carter out on the boat for the 1st time this year.  He met up w/ Josh Featherstone at Utah Lake and took 2 of his 3 boys as well.  Rob came along as well.  They had fun going for a few rides on the boat, but unfortunately didn't get any fish.  They had a good time though.

Hudson looking up at the camera before going to bed, and sucking on his toes before taking a nap.  Dave and Joann stopped by after they went to the temple.  They had dinner w/ us, Steve gave Dave his shot, then we played a quick game of "Apples to Apples Jr."

Cute Hudson just clapping before going to bed.

Another time getting air before his nap.

1st week of March

Here are some highlights from the 1st week of March.  We're thankful for the warm weather days which allow us to get outside a little more.

Hudson and Carter playing on the trampoline (Hudson trying to walk while on the trampoline).  Carter loves it when Piper comes up on his bed to say good night at bedtime.  Steve lets Carter and Hudson play at the school playground waiting for Nyles to get out of school.

We've had some really nice weather.  Steve and Dave took the boys fishing after school one day.
They had a great time and caught a few fish.

Hudson soaking up the sun.  Dave helping Carter get a fish on!

Yeah our Crocuses are blooming!  We planted them the year before.  I love these flowers since they are the first to bloom after winter.  It reminds me that Spring is on it's way, though we'll get snow again.

Hudson playing in the sandbox.  Hudson and Carter hiding behind the couch.  Nyles got a book from the book fair with his own money.  It's a journal w/ a key.  We had Parent-Teacher Conference for Nyles this past week.  He's making great progress and is a hard worker.  We're proud of him!

Hudson's moves while sleeping.

Great reminder.  Piper licking Nyles' feet since there was lotion on them.  Silly Piper!  Then we got a little more snow again.  Warm again, then snow, repeat.  Typical Spring in Utah right ;)

Sunday, we had family dinner get together.  We had it at LuDean/Diane's place.  Steve, Nyles, and Carter went over on Saturday to help set up.  It was decorated wonderfully for St. Patrick's Day.  We had hamburgers for dinner, then played a fun game.

The kids playing in the hallway.

Taking turns playing the game.  LuDean helped also!  It was a lot of fun, thanks everyone!

Great quote.

Last week of February

Here are some highlights from the last week of February.  The weather keeps going back and forth.  It'll warm up, then it snows.  Warms up, then it snow.  We definitely need the moisture, so no complaints.  It's just funny in that one day the boys are in shorts and t-shirts, the next they want hot chocolate :)

Hudson had his 18 months Dr. Appointment.  For height he was 2'8" (31%), for weight he was 24lbs 5 oz (28%), and head circumference he was 19.4 inches (85%).  Yep he has a cute round head, which sometimes makes it hard to get his shirts on :)

We got a little more snow.

Hudson walking more.

Nyles made chocolate covered strawberries during his Primary Activity.  He did a great job; they were yummy!  Cute baby Hudson loves to cuddle w/ his blankies.

My Tulips that Steve and the boys gave me for my birthday are blooming!  Hudson eating his toes.  Piper found the green bone my mom gave us.  She used it as a toy w/ her boy scouts, but Piper recognized it as a dog toy right away.  She is too smart!  Now she can't stop playing w/ it!

Nyles and Carter earning another stripe on their belts.  They're working hard!

We went to Scheels again for a quick ride on the Ferris Wheel and the boys played w/ the laser guns.

Another time at Martial Arts; Nyles trying to get the other person off w/ a pool noodle.

Great quote.  Fidelity sent us all soft, warm blankets.  They are so soft!
Hudson LOVES to play in water, so naturally he LOVES bath time!

We went over to a school to play on the playground.  They are the Draper Dragons :)
My Tulips are opening up!  Hudson eating his toes again.  Silly kid.

Steve took the boys fishing after school one day when the weather was warm.  They caught quite a few and kept some.  Nyles likes Steve to cook them up w/ a cracker crust.  Hudson even eats it!

Hudson will go to bed at night no problem, but during the day, 90% of the time he wants to sleep in his car seat for his nap.  So eventually he ends up in it.  He's so silly, but so cute!
Great quotes.  The Lord is mindful of us and knows what is best for us in the long run, even though we don't understand at the moment why things are as they are.
