We had an eventful week. Here are some highlights.
Cute baby Hudson sleeping. I did another 1000 piece puzzle in a couple days.
The boys did my hair while we read a couple stories in the Friend magazine before bedtime.
They did pretty good eh?
Cute Carter making a pillow fort. Steve has been working on making a blind for the boat.
Silly Piper and her bottom teeth. Steve went up to help Stacie learn how to do drywall, so he went up to help her. Hudson played w/ while they worked. The boys enjoying some Halloween Cheetos.
Hudson is able to pull himself up now on the couches. He likes to pull himself up wherever he can. Silly Piper, sleeping on her bed, though her head fell off.
Ironically I took the picture w/ Hudson at the couches on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he gave us quite the scare. Steve had just picked up Carter from preschool, then put Hudson down in the living room next to Carter. Steve then went up to the kitchen and over by the front living room, when he heard some choking/gargling sounds. He came back around the corner and could see Hudson laying at the base of the stairs on his back, but his face was red. Steve could tell immediately that he was choking. He quickly picked him up, turned him over, then hit on his back 4-5 times. Hudson then spit up a penny, coughed and started breathing. Steve then turned him over to look at him. Hudson then threw up on Steve w/ another penny coming out in his throw up.
I was upstairs working and could hear some noise and was wondering what was going on. When I got done with my appointment I came downstairs. Steve was still holding baby Hudson, who was crying. I then grabbed Hudson (he wanted me) and asked what had happened. After telling me, Steve called the Pediatrician who recommended we come in for an x-ray to make sure there weren't more coins in his belly. Steve then packed up Carter and Hudson and left to the hospital/Dr's office. Thankfully there weren't any more coins in his belly. Hudson was exhausted after seeing the Dr., and took a nap as soon as they got home. I cleaned up and vacuumed the living room while they were gone, on my lunch break.
We found out that Hudson had grabbed the coins from inside one of the cupholders on the couches. Earlier the week before, Nyles had his piggybank out and some coins came out. I distinctly remember telling Nyles to pick up his coins and put them away in his room, but he obviously forgot. We kindly reminded the boys later that we HAVE to clean up small things so Hudson doesn't find them. Steve went to the chiropractor the next morning to get adjusted and the chiropractor adjusted Hudson's back as well (from Steve hitting it so hard to get the pennies out).
We are so thankful that Steve acted quickly and knew how to give him the Heimlich. We are so thankful no permanent damage happened to Hudson either and that he's ok. We are so thankful to have him in our family and can't imagine life without him. We love him so much!
The next day Hudson had a little peanut butter on a spoon for lunch, then he shared it with Piper, both on his fingers and his spoon. So cute!
Cute baby Hudson sharing his peanut butter with Piper.
Nyles and Carter earned a stripe in martial arts: anger management and intensity.
Good work boys!
Hudson got up on the 1st stair, but when we tried to get it on camera of course he wouldn't do it again.
Another attempt to entice him to get up on the stairs, but he instead figured out how to reach for the phone w/out getting up the stairs. ;)
Friday I took work off since the boys didn't have school (Parent-teacher conferences). We were planning to go up to the cabin, but I wasn't feeling that great and Hudson seemed to have a little cold as well, so we stayed home. Steve, Nyles and Carter went up that morning, then came home Saturday afternoon. Dave/Joann were already up there, as they just put a new propane fireplace in the cabin. The propane tank was getting dropped off on Friday as well.
The boys checking out the propane tank install.
Friday afternoon they went out fishing. Ethan came a little later and joined them.
Nyles caught and reeled in his own fish all by himself! Good work Nyles!
Steve took the boys to the Strawberry Fish Hatchery on their way home to see the Salmon running.
While they were gone, we mostly took it easy. I cleaned and we went grocery shopping. I also finished another 1000 piece puzzle again. Silly baby Hudson over in the corner of his crib. He moves all over the place in his crib. He started pulling out some of the toys in the bins and stood up on the chair. I love his cute chubby legs :)
We also bought 4/5 bushel of Bartlett pears from Winco last week, then Steve and I peeled and sliced them and dried them over a couple nights. They are super yummy, both fresh and dried!
Sunday we went over to Pauline's house to celebrate Lincoln's 2nd birthday.
Cute Carter likes to snuggle w/ Piper.
Steve added some grass to his blind to help it blend it even more (grass on the top picture).
Great quotes.
