Last couple days of May

Here are some other happenings the last couple days of May.

Carter finished up his last day of pre-preschool. He also had his last session w/ his speech therapist. He's improved so much now so he doesn't qualify for additional help, which is great. He'll go to a regular preschool in the Fall 2 days/week.
Nyles finished his last day of his art and soccer after school programs. He really enjoyed them both he said, especially soccer since he got to run around. His school also had a field trip on Wednesday to the curiosity museum at Thanksgiving Point. When Steve and I talked to his teacher during Parent-teacher conferences she said they didn't have any more funding for another field trip this year, so we inquired how much it would cost. Since we have our Fidelity Charitable account w/ the match money they put in it, we figured this would be a good use of the money (something educational and fun). We donated $500 which allowed the whole 1st grade to go! I love our match money. It's not our money but we get credit for using it to help others. We also use it for so many good causes (Primary Children's Hospital, schools, Ronald McDonald House, Utah Food Bank, etc).
Steve started his Summer rotations at TOSH hospital. He only has to go 2 ways a week during this Summer, which is awesome! He also only has online classes this Summer so he doesn't have to go the school. He also has been studying hard for his physic's board test coming up on June 5th. He also had an appointment w/ his heart Dr. and he is going to perform surgery on June 6th to help his heart be more "regular." Steve's heart speeds up occasionally and he has had to go to the emergency room a few times to get it under control. This surgery should fix it. Ironically Melanie's son Noah just had the same procedure a couple months ago. Joann also said her mom had the same issue w/ her heart but they just put her on medication "back then" since they didn't know what else to do to fix it.
I've been mostly working from home mostly on Mondays/Tuesdays when Steve is doing his clinical rotations. We'll plan to do that through the Summer. I'm so thankful for the ability to finally work from home.

Steve was studying over Memorial Day Weekend so we stayed close by, but I took the boys to the Aquarium again on Monday for a little while to get them out of the house while Steve studied.

I love this time of year when everything is in bloom: the flowers, trees, and grass.

We put our American Flag back up for Memorial Day Weekend as well.

Harmon's comes to Nyles' school and teaches them about food every so often. They gave them an apron, spatula and recipe book on their last visit this past week. When Nyles got home he wanted to make something together. He helped me cut up peppers to make fajitas, then we made homemade Oreo's together (cookies from a cake mix but then we made homemade frosting). He was so proud of himself. He did awesome! He helped cut strawberries up as well. I love it when he helps me in the kitchen. :)

On Friday, May 31st, Nyles got to go on his limo ride w/ the Principal and 17 other kids for winning the raffle from the Fun Run. They went from the school to Bahama Bucks to get a snow cone. I asked Steve to go take a few pics to see his excitement.
