First Half of April

I can't believe April is almost over.  I need to do a quick catch-up.  Here are some highlights from the first half of April

Steve got excited for Summer and decided to plant our garden.  We're sick of the neighbor's cats digging and pooping in our garden though, so we decided to put up a fence around the garden this time.  It keeps our little boys out too.  Win, win. :)

Sophie Anderson (the bishop's daughter who lives behind us) likes to come over and play w/ Nyles.  They usually play a couple times a week.  Lately they've been playing w/ the toboggans on the grass.  She's a year older than Nyles, but they usually play really well together.  They mostly like to play make believe stuff, which is cute.

Our cute little garden.  We have lettuce, bell peppers, carrots, and a tomato plant so far.

We also have potatoes up above our retaining wall, and pumpkins and watermelons in starts.

I think this is a great quote and is so needed in our world today.

Steve surprised me with a date night to Texas Roadhouse one Friday night.  He asked Chris Grayson to come over and sit w/ the boys while we went out.  Carter went down to bed shortly after we left, then Nyles played w/ Ezra until we got home.  We can't take the boys to the Texas Roadhouse since Nyles has his peanut allergy and they have peanuts everywhere.  It was fun to go out just the two of us though; we had a great time.  Thanks again Chris for watching!

The next day we went to the Jordan River Temple Open House.  It's been closed for about 2 years while they've done extensive renovations.  This is the temple where Steve and I were married, so we definitely wanted to take the boys through it.  Pauline got us tickets and we all met up and went through together.  Ironically it was raining so hard the whole time.  Though we got completely soaked, we had a great time inside the temple and the peace you feel inside is incredible.

The next day Nyles told me when he grows up he wants to be a temple worker.  :)

The next day at church, Nyles and I went to go set up chair for Primary the last 5 minutes of sacrament meeting, so Steve distracted Carter w/ his phone/camera.  Silly boys!

Steve started working on laying our kitchen tile in the entry way.  And so it begins...

Since we were in Idaho for Easter, the next Sunday we went over and had dinner w/ Dave, Joann, LuDean and Diane, then had the boys do their Easter Egg hunt.  Thanks for the fun!

The front yard grass mowed for the first time this year.  

Our seeding worked last year and the grass came back greener and thicker, yeah!

And then it snowed, lame!

Now it's covered in snow.

Carter discovered churros at Costco.  I think he's hooked liked Nyles was.  

He loves to smile for the camera now too.  Cute boy.

Nyles got a piggy bank for helping clean up the toys at the Draper Library.  

It's made so you can paint it too.  He was super excited to say the least.

We have a new tradition.  Every morning when I leave for work the boys jump on the hood of my car and get a short ride.  Steve grabs Carter off the car as I'm leaving the garage, and Nyles slides off the hood.  They then wave goodbye as a drive away.  They think it's the best thing ever!  They get a little upset if they miss it, so we typically wake them up before I leave if they're still sleeping.  It's a fun little tradition we all look forward to each morning.
