May Showers

We're half way through May already; I can't believe it.  It's going quickly as well.  Here are a few updates.

Nyles stacking Cheerios, but then decided to eat them.

Nyles watching Steve cut down a tree (in Dave/Joann's yard).

Nyles "helping" the flowers grow or maybe just playing in the dirt.
Somedays he doesn't want to change out of his "maji's either.

Enjoying some nutella and cupcake frosting

Steve and Nyles relaxing on a rainy day.  We sure have got a lot of rain in May.  The past 2 weekends it's rained almost the whole time, and it looks like we're supposed to get more rain over Memorial Day weekend as well.  You'd think we lived in Seattle or something.  I guess it's needed though ;)  With the rain though, we were able to stay inside and make the updates to our condo which were nice and needed (bathroom and kitchen cupboards).

Nyles watching some construction near downtown

We've been finding new ways to use our pork.  We made BBQ pork chops and ribs recently.  Both we used Famous Dave's Rib Rub on it, then homemade BBQ sauce.  They were fantastic!  Let me know if you'd like the recipes.

Mother's Day ribs for dinner, May 10th.

Nyles combing and brushing my hair

He was really focused on it.  Surprisingly he did a really good job too.
At least he wasn't rough that is.

Wednesday, May 13th.  Steve picked me up at the train station, then we went to a park in Murray and went fishing.  I was needing some updated pics of Nyles as well, so I asked him to grab my camera as well. Needless to say, it was a game to him to get him to look at the camera, so we didn't get too many "good" ones.  Oh well, that's a 2 year old for ya.  Silly kid ;)

Nyles showing off his fishing pole

Now playing w/ his truck in the dirt

And he found a piece of fishing line w/ a weight on it.

Helping daddy fish

Playing at the playground now.

Going down the slide w/ mommy.

Oh course he smiled and looked at the camera for Steve the next day, oh well.

Saturday, May 16th Steve went out turkey hunting in Coalville.  He asked a couple farmers there if he could hunt their property and they said he could.  He had gone on Thursday afternoon/evening and found their farms to hunt, but couldn't get a turkey to come in.  The farmers told him it would be better to come in the early morning, so he did.

Steve's decoys set up

He got one to come in, though it was 40 yards away, he got it!

Proud hunter.  Steve was so happy, especially since it's only his second year trying to hunt for them, and he pretty much taught himself along the way.  It was also during the "general season" and that's a lot harder to get one.  Great job honey!

Nyles taking another look.  Dave helping Steve clean it up.

As Dave said, "It's warm in here."

Rob came and watched Nyles so we could do to the Temple Friday night.  We had dinner together, then left.  Rob played w/ Nyles for a little while longer then put him to bed.  This is the second time, and so far so good.  We're glad Nyles likes "Uncle Rob."  It was great to get to the temple as well.

Saturday we went up and visited Dave and Melissa Thomas as well in their new house in Woods Cross.  It was great to see them and visit for a little while.  We sure miss having them so close by.

Steve starts Summer school tomorrow.  I'm taking Friday off for Memorial Day Weekend as well, so that'll be nice.  Our pool opens this weekend also.  Nyles is looking forward to swimming and we're all looking forward to Summer.  Yeah!
