2nd Week of June

We had an eventful week.  Here are some highlights.

On Monday, June 8th, it was Carter's 10th Birthday!  He was super excited for his big day, officially double digits!  He opened a gift in the morning, then waited for his others in the evening when Diane, Dave and Joann could join us for dinner.

We then played a game of Cover Your Assets after dessert.

We appreciate the love and support he had from everyone (phone calls and visits).  Thank you!

We're thankful for Carter and the joy he brings to our family.  He is a peacemaker in the family, always helping his brothers out.  He's willing to help those around him and shares what he has.  He's thoughtful and kind.  He's athletic and can pick up on things pretty easily, whether it be sports, musical instruments, Rubik's cubes, puzzles, etc.  He works hard and tries his best.  We're so grateful to have him in our family.

I signed Carter and Hudson up for swim lessons at Dimple Dell, but it ended up being a bust, so Steve took them out.  The cake didn't turn out (since I didn't have enough time to let it cool before decorating), so I turned them into cake balls instead.  The kids said I can make those anytime :)  Steve helped move his Grandpa Carl to a new Assisted Living facility on Tuesday.  They already had a twin bed for him to use, so Carter took his full bed.

On Wednesday, Hudson graduated from Upstart.  He did awesome and is ready for Kindergarten!

Later, he was walking around in his dinosaur costume.

On Thursday, Steve and Nyles left to go to YM's Camp in Moab.  Steve borrowed Brandon Lake's trailer to put the gear in.  They used a lot of our camping stuff as well since the girls were having their YW camp at the same time and used the Ward stuff.  Once they set up camp, they did a bike ride.

They did a few more bike rides at Dead Horse Point State Park.

Thursday night was Carter's last rock climbing class.  

While he was at class, Hudson and I went over to the Aquarium.

They met up w/ Ethan and did some rock climbing together.

On Saturday, Steve, Nyles and the group rafted the Colorado River.

While they were gone, I cleaned the grout in the kitchen.

I then took out the shelves in the pantry and was just going to recover them.  But after I took out the shelves, I realized we never painted the inside of the pantry when we moved in 10 years ago.  SOOOOO, I then found some paint in the garage and painted the inside and outside of the pantry.

Carter helped me put new paper on the shelves.  New paint on the door and trim as well.  It needed it!

Saturday afternoon, we met up w/ Pauline and her boys and went swimming at the Draper Pool.

I then brought the boys back to our place to stay the night.  We ordered pizza and the boys had fun playing.  They even stayed up a little longer and did night games outside.  Steve and Nyles got home late Saturday evening.  I made crepes for breakfast on Sunday, then Chris came and picked up the boys around 10am before we had to leave to go to church.

Sunday afternoon, we went and dropped of Brandon's trailer in Midway.  

After visiting a little while, we went over to Cascade Springs for a little hike.

It was a relaxing, beautiful evening.

We came back through Provo Canyon, so we passed Deer Creek and Bridal Veil Falls.

1st Week of June

Here are some highlights from the 1st week of June! 

Getting a snow cone to celebrate Summer!  Hudson's last day of preschool.  Pretty Dianthus.

On Wednesday, June 3rd, Hudson had his preschool graduation.

Then Nyles met up w/ his friend Cal at the Jordan River Temple and did baptisms for the dead.

Wednesday night Pauline put on a party for Charlotte who just graduated high school.  Our parents came down from Burley for the party.  They stayed w/ Dave/Joann that evening and left the next morning.  I made them a breakfast casserole for breakfast the next morning to warm up.  I also made one for our neighbors who just had a baby.

Friday morning, Steve took the boys fishing at Rockport.  They caught a LOT of fish!

The wind picked up, so they fished from the shore and did just as well near the docks.

Our neighbor Jace was hit by a car (unfortunately, he didn't push the crosswalk button and went while riding his electric scooter).  Thankfully, he came home from the hospital a few days later.  The boys helped put hearts on his lawn, and others put the neighborhood flamingoes around their yard to celebrate having him home.

Friday, we ate dinner at Chili's, then went rock climbing as a family to celebrate Summer.

Saturday, we went to Lagoon as a family to celebrate Carter's birthday coming up.  We picked up Diane on the way and Conor met us there.  Diane paid for all 3 boys (for their birthdays this Summer) to go on the Sky Coaster, which was really nice and they appreciated.

Then over to Rattle Snake Rapids (I'd never been).  We knew it was going to be hot, so we brought sandals for the ride to change into.  Jeff, Kim and Alexa also came.

It was a lot of fun, and we definitely got wet!  

It was a little cool at first, but actually felt really good w/ the hot heat that day.

Carrie and Lynsie showed up then and Rob surprised us also.  We split up, everyone going to the new ride Nutcracker, except Hudson, Rob, Steve and I.  We did Bombora then Rattle Snake Rapids again, as Rob hadn't done it in a long time either.  The line was longer this time, but it moved fairly quickly.  Hudson did one kiddie ride also.

Everyone left after that except us, Diane, and Rob.  We did Primordial for our last ride.

Sunday we had dinner up in Centerville at a park for our family dinner.  Carrie, Diane, Lynsie and Nyles.  We had a pinata to break.  Right before, Dave and Joann surprised everyone by telling them they're taking us all on a trip for their 50th wedding anniversary!  We're going to Cancun in November!  We're all super excited for a fun family trip!

4th Week of May

Monday, May 25th was Memorial Day, so we had the day off, both for school and work.  We went and helped Diane pack, then in the evening, we went up to Midway to swim and for a BBQ at Melanie/Brandon's place.

Tuesday Steve didn't have YMs, so we went to the Mandalorian Movie w/ Dave, Joann, and Rob.

Steve, Hudson and I going on a walk.  Nyles had a few friends over after school.  Carter was in the newspaper for the 50's music they performed.  Ironically, our neighbor Kaitlyn was on the same page.

On Thursday, Steve, Dave, and Joann went to an award ceremony at Nyles' school.  

He was awarded several honors for his contributions to his class and achievements.

On Friday, May 29th, it was the last day of school for Nyles and Carter!

Carter was playing w/ his friends at school and one of them accidentally elbowed him and gave him a black eye.  He also had a project for one of his last days, showing his hawk in its environment.  To celebrate the last day of school, we went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse.  Ironically, we ran into Josh Featherstone and his family there (Steve grew up w/ him).  They were celebrating their dad Steve's 70th birthday.

On Saturday, we to the baptism of Steve's cousin's (Becky) kid (Max).

We then helped pack up at Diane's Saturday afternoon.  Conor came home w/ us to spend the night.

Conor came to church w/ us, then we dropped him off on our way to Dave and Melissa Thomas' house Sunday evening.  We had dinner w/ them and played games.
