September Fun

September went by pretty quick.  I've been busy studying for my CFP test coming up in November and keeping up at work.  Steve has been busy w/ the boys and his 2 callings (teaching Primary w/ me and Young Men's).  He's also been getting ready for duck season of course.  Nyles is enjoying Kindergarten and going to school every day.  He's sad our neighbor and his best friend Ryder moved, but they plan to keep in touch and have play dates.  Carter is growing more and more each day.  He signs when when he wants more food, milk, or wants to go to bed; it's pretty cute.  He also gives really good hugs.  The kids in our Primary class (ages 12 now), love him to pieces.  He's getting closer to walking and can now reach door handles, so we have to be careful there.  We recently put up more baby gates to keep him contained:)

Here are some more highlights in pictures.

Carter and Nyles just playing in our room.  Carter loves to be right by Nyles.

Carter eating yummy peaches from our tree.

We took a Sunday walk as a family and Nyles had to stop at the playground for a minute.

Nyles sitting in a container, in order to stay dry.  He looks pretty cozy.

Steve took Carter on the boat too.

He was having such a great time, he actually fell asleep for an hour.

The weather was pretty interesting in September as well.  It was 96 degrees for Labor Day, then the next week it dropped and was only like 60 degrees for a high.  We got snow the next week in the higher elevations.  It sure changed quickly from Summer to Fall, and almost winter if you ask me.  No complaints though.  There are so many things to be grateful for!  Thank you for all you do, we love you!

Last quote.  Food for thought.

Labor Day Weekend

Saturday, September 2nd Steve took the boys up to the cabin for the day.  I was of course home studying, so it was a great opportunity to get the boys out of the house and have some fun.  They fished for a while and caught some, then the kids ended up getting really hot and wanted to jump in the water.  They didn't have their swimsuits of course, so they got in w/ their underwear.  They had a lot of fun swimming, then they got out an inner tube and Dave pulled them around on that for a while.  Steve and Rob brought their boats up also and took the kids on rides in them also.  Everyone had a great time.  Here are some pics.

Steve netting a fish for Nyles.

Cameron and Nyles getting in the water.

Carter stayed at the cabin w/ Joann.  He took his naps and played w/ the toys.

Sunday after church, we went up to Silver Lake for a quick family picnic and stroll around the lake.  It was nice to get out of the heat as well.  We've had such a hot summer.  Labor Day was 96 degrees!

Nyles being silly, not wanting his picture taken.

After climbing up the big rock he wanted his picture though.

Pretty flowers and green peppers from our garden.

Cute Carter w/ Steve's hat.

The next day, Steve worked w/ our neighbor in the back (the bishop), to rebuild part of the fence that had fallen down in the wind storm earlier.  Steve had repaired it at the time, but it ultimately needed a full redo.

Steve after clearing the old fence.

Now digging the fence posts.

The fence after getting the posts in and the crossbars.

Then a couple days later they came back and put the slats in.

Nyles thought he would help by hitting things w/ the hammer.

All done.  Great work, looks awesome!
