2nd Week of June

Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of June.

Carter walking around in shoes for a stuffed animal.  Silly Carter.

Carter w/ his friend Colin in preschool Summer Camp.

Cute Carter, singing him Happy Birthday!  Stacie and Phill and family came over to celebrate.

Carter blowing out his candles.

The next day (on Carter's actual birthday), Carter wasn't feeling very well but we still sang him Happy Birthday again.  Nyles even read him his new storybook he got from his Primary teachers.  He loved the birthday card and balloon from Grandma/Grandpa Hegerhorst as well.  Steve ended up taking him in the Dr during the day and they confirmed he had croup, poor kid.  Later in the week he was also diagnosed w/ Strep Throat and was put on antibiotics, which helped.  We took it easy throughout the week, but thankfully we did fun stuff over the weekend before his birthday, to celebrate his birthday.

Cute Hudson is getting better and better at eating things.  He likes Pirates Booty lately.
We put up our sunshade since it's so hot.

Cute Hudson trying to get to Piper.  He's getting better at moving around.

We had record HEAT!  Good thought.

Friday evening Carter still wasn't feeling the best and didn't want to do much.  So I took Nyles for a hike up Little Bell while Steve stayed home with the younger two.  I wanted to do something outside before it got too hot.  The weather was great and we had a great hike.

It was great to spend time with just Nyles.  Among other things we discussed, I told Nyles about how Steve and I met and started dating.  He thought it was pretty entertaining.

Saturday we went up to Echo Reservoir to kayak and swim w/ Pauline and her family.  Dave brought over his boat so our neighbor Ron could work on it, while Steve got our boat ready to go.

Since Carter got a new kayak (and was a little bigger), we decided to get Nyles one too.
So we have 3 little ones, and our 2 bigger kayaks.

We had a great time taking turns on the kayaks.  The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!
Nyles on his kayak, Charlotte and Chris taking a turn, then Lincoln w/ Chris, and Charlotte trying the smaller kayak, which we really enjoyed.  The kids learned pretty quickly how to use the kayaks.

Pauline trying my kayak, Hudson playing w/ a frisbee, Steve taking Carter for a ride, Chris pulling Lincoln around, and Nyles, Ezra and Pauline going for a ride.

More fun in the sun!

Steve took them for a ride in the big boat as well.
Pauline, Lincoln, Hudson and I stayed back and played in the sand.

Pauline and I going for a ride, and Steve, Nyles and Pauline taking a turn.

Hudson is finally getting his 4 top teeth in.  They are so cute as is his smile!

Sunday afternoon we went up to Silver Lake to try and cool off from the heat.  It was 100 degrees in the valley, but only 80 degrees up the canyon.  It was so wonderful!  We walked around and enjoyed the scenery.  Hudson took a ride in the wagon for the first time and loved it!

Such a beautiful place.  The boys each took a backpack w/ their own water bottles this time.

The boys wanted to climb up the big rock wall, so I went up w/ them.  We were going to set up the hammocks, but unfortunately there were mosquitoes everywhere so we kept going.

We even found snow up there still!  I love the view every time.

Since we were up there, we decided to show the boys where we were engaged, up at Guardsman's Pass.  It's such a beautiful view!  13 years ago (in October), we were engaged to be married :)

Great quotes.
