Cabin Weekend

We went up to the cabin over the weekend of June 21st.  I took Friday off and we headed up.  Carter was so excited all week he kept saying "me ready now."

Here are some highlights.

Carter and I on the ATV.

We rode the ATVs to the end of the road (since the boys were so excited to ride them), then walked down to the shore to see the water levels.

The water levels were definitely high.  Cute Nyles and Carter.

Taking a ride w/ Grandpa on the ATV.

The next morning Rob, Dave and Steve went out fishing.  It was rather cold to say the least and no fish were biting, so they didn't stay very long.

Beautiful scenery.

Jeff had a ham radio field day close to the cabin, so he dropped off Kim and the kids to hang out w/ us a couple hours.  Kim had surgery on her ACL earlier that week, so he thought her and the kids would like to get out for a little bit since she's been home bound since her surgery.

And then the clouds came rolling in.  We took a drive over behind the dam.

The water is definitely high.

Waving to Joann: Nyles, Cameron, Alexa, Carter, me and Steve.

Cheese!

Down by the river, also very high and flowing quickly.

Silly kids.

Exploring w/ the binoculars.

Checking out the water.

Walking back to the cars.

Pretty flowers along the path.

Cute Carter.

Nyles, Alexa and Cameron riding w/ Grandma.

Back at the cabin, Cameron and Nyles wanted to shoot BB guns w/ Grandpa.

And the clouds came in thicker and darker.

Looking at the badger holes on our walk down to the other side of the shore.

And then it started to snow so we hurried back to the cabin.

Still snowing back at the cabin.

Warming up back at the cabin w/ some freshly popped popcorn!

Playing a game of "Yeti in my spaghetti."

And Carter fell asleep, hard!

So we went for another ATV ride and saw a pot-gut.

Then building with Lincoln logs.

Sunday morning we went to the Fruitland branch for church, ate lunch, cleaned up, and then headed out.  The boys fell asleep as soon as we started driving home in the car.  I think it's a good sign they had a good time :)
