After we got back we decided to go for a hike up to Cecret Lake, up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Neither Steve nor I had ever been up there but we managed to find it with a few points in the right direction. It was a BEAUTIFUL view to say the least. And the cooler temperatures up there were perfect!

There were lots of little streams to cross along the path.

Nyles getting a drink from the Camelback while hiking back down.
Oh course since Nyles didn't take a nap, he fell asleep as soon as we started going down the canyon.
Saturday, July 4th we did some things around the house, then did a little grocery shopping. Nyles had a cough that was getting worse, so we took him into the Dr as well. Of course there was nothing we could do for it, but he did suggest giving him a little Benadryl before bed in order to allow him to sleep and not be woken up from coughing. After we got home he didn't want to take a nap again. Ironically he fell asleep while watching a show.
Red, White and Blue Crepes for the 4th.
After dinner we headed up to Dave and Joann's for root beer floats and fireworks. It was a lot of fun. We actually stayed the whole time, which was the first time in 3 years. Nyles wasn't scared of them either. He was a little more interested in the neighbors dog though at times.

We played a little ladder ball before fireworks.

Nyles ready for fireworks. We had to change his clothes because he got wet again after changing from his swimsuit. Silly kid.

Lots of fireworks.
We gave Nyles Benadryl right before leaving, and it definitely helped him fall asleep lucking. He still has a little cough today, but thankfully it's mostly gone.
On Sunday, we went over to LuDean's for our family dinner. LuDean and Diane put a lot of work into our activities. LuDean told some pioneer stories from her family and Diane helped us play a Pioneer Bingo. It was a lot of fun! Thanks you two! It was a great 4th of July weekend!
