Though it's December the boys wanted to play outside in the dirt w/ their trucks.
It hasn't been that cold and we haven't really had any snow, so why not?
Carter loves books!

We had our Ward Christmas Party and dinner. After the program Santa came.
Though Carter usually likes everyone, Santa was apparently a little scary to him.
Love it!
The dinosaurs and rhinoceros caught the Elf.
Carter loves drawing. This is the new Dr's office for Nyles and Carter, their Pediatrician.
I think it's so cute seeing him color/draw!
Nyles had 2 of his adult teeth coming in behind his bottom front baby teeth, so Steve took him into the dentist (his Pediatric Dentist) to look at them. He said the roots were pretty deep and would be difficult coming out, so he pulled them. Nyles was pretty excited to have his teeth gone, and especially for the tooth fairy to come.

On Sunday, December 10th around 12:20am Steve's phone started to ring. At first it was his alarm clock going off, so he turned it off. He had gone duck hunting that morning and set an alarm on his phone. After turning it off and setting his phone back down on his nightstand, his phone started ringing again. As he picked it up this time he saw it was Aunt Diane calling. She said that LuDean had fallen out of bed and was asking for Steve. Diane couldn't lift her on her own, so she asked if Steve could come help her. He said absolutely, he'd be right down. Diane put LuDean on the phone since she wanted to talk to Steve. Steve said she was slurring her speech but she was also partially laying on her face, so Steve wasn't sure what to think.
As he got there he did a quick assessment on her and realized she had a stroke. Steve called Dave on his way over so he called him back and told him he thought she had had a stroke. Since Dave was almost there he wanted him to wait to call the ambulance until he could see there. Once he got there he did an assessment as well and came to the same conclusion. They then called the ambulance who took her to the hospital. They ended up having to do a prompt surgery on her to remove a blood clot in her brain. Luckily they were successful. LuDean stayed at the hospital for a few days, then they released her to a rehabilitation center. She's slowly getting her strength back. They think she'll be released this week, just after the New Year.

One Friday night after work, Steve and the boys met me downtown. We then went to City Creek to eat dinner, then walked over to Temple Square to see the lights. It was fun, though it was also REALLY busy! We chose that night because the weather was warm, apparently so did everyone else. We didn't stay long though because we needed to get Carter home to bed. Luckily we live close and can go back any day.

Carter got a snowman from Nursery for Christmas. He started going to Nursery a couple weeks ago and has done fantastic. He hasn't cried once and actually gets excited to go. The girls in our Primary class were sad he's not w/ us anymore in our class while we teach. I told them if he throws a fit in Nursery I'll bring him back into our class, but he hasn't. He really loves Nursery!

Carter wanted to sit in Nyles chair at the dinner table.
Carter has been walking consistently for the past couple months and LOVES it! He is on constantly on the go! We no longer have the baby gates downstairs since he can now go safely down the stairs on his belly. He goes up and down the stairs all by himself and pretty much everywhere he wants to go. He is all over the house and with that we have to watch him closely to make sure he's not getting into something. We have baby locks on cupboards to keep him out of the kitchen. He climbs up on anything he can. He definitely makes life interesting and keeps us on our toes, but we love him!

Carter also loves to give hugs lately. He'll give me big hugs before and after work. He gives Steve and Nyles hugs, family, and even the neighbor kids. So cute!

Carter at the Aquarium.
We went with Stacie the Friday before Christmas to the Aquarium, since I had the day off. At the Aquarium they had Elves hidden in the different aquariums that you had to find. It was like a little scavenger hunt for the kids. They could fill out a paper of where they found some of the elves and they'd get a treat afterwards. After the first time going, Nyles and Steve both had it memorized where they all were. They were both pretty excited to show us where they were.
Here is and elf one of the fish tanks.
