We had an eventful week. Here are the highlights:
Carter finished putting together his Lego Stitch set from his birthday. It's super cute. Nyles was on the honor roll again his last term in 6th grade. He actually was on the honor roll all year. Good work Nyles! Steve took the boys to Lagoon on Tuesday for a few hours.
Wednesday, Steve and the boys went scouting for deer/elk for the fall. Zach Hannay met them in Kamas, then they rode up together to Woodland. They had a good time, found some good spots, and even enjoyed the beautiful flowers/scenery around them.
Some areas were affected by the fires last year.
We had a new fridge delivered on Wednesday as well. Our old one kept building up ice in the back of the fridge, the ice maker stopped working years ago, and then we were getting pools of water in the bottom drawers. We've had it 9 years (since we moved in), so figured it was time for a new one.

On Saturday, June 28th, we met at the church to celebrate Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary (it was on June 24th). Barbara and Rose brought some decorations, so we put them up, then had my parents come into the gym where we had decorated for them.

Then some Blitz ball (like baseball but you don't need to use gloves to catch the ball, you can use your hands). Steve played it w/ the YM earlier in the week w/ Nyles and Carter. They liked it, so we ordered a set on Amazon and brought it w/ us. Everyone who played really liked it.

Then cake time!
Then clean up time! Hudson wanted to help pop the balloons. He started using a fork, then Grandpa showed him his knife, haha. Hudson fell asleep on the way home of course.
The boys wanted to ride on Grandpa's motorcycle when we got back to their place. Then we helped feed the animals again, and of course, Hudson wanted to ride on the horse for a minute. The kids then stayed up chasing toads around the yard. One even peed on Sophia, yuck! Mom, Dad, Rose, Anna, Pauline, and I played a game of 5 Crowns, then we all went to bed.
We left on Sunday morning. We ended up meeting Barbara in Mt. Home to drop our kids off w/ her. Steve was heading out for trek Monday morning, and I need to be in the office all week at work. Barbara kindly said she'd take the boys, so they wouldn't be just sitting at home. Pauline and her family were leaving to Colorado on Monday, and Rose was going camping. At work, we interviewed people this week to fill in positions on our team, as 6 of them are leaving for a new role this week. We are only allowed to backfill 2 positions, but it'll be a few weeks until they're hired and likely a few more until they're up to speed. So we're short-staffed, to say the least, so I need to be at work. We did a load of laundry Saturday night, so all of their clothes were clean. Steve and I then drove home by ourselves. We talked the whole way home and were surprised we were home in no time! The time went by quick!
It's always great to get together. It took some coordination to plan a time when everyone could come, but we did it! It turned out great, and it was fantastic to spend some time together. It always goes by so fast of course, but we're thankful for the time we had with one another. We're so grateful for our families overall, and I'm especially thankful for my parents and their wonderful examples of love and service. Families are forever!
