Bear Lake/Logan Trip w/ Sisters

On Tuesday, August 2nd after working 1/2 the day, we headed up to Logan/Smithfield.  We met Barb and Pauline there.  Just before getting to the house we rented, we all picked up pizza at different places for dinner.  Then we had cake and ice cream for the August birthdays.

Having cake and ice cream.  Happy birthday to August birthdays: Pauline (8th), Nyles (12th), Barbara and Hudson (20th).  Hudson and Lincoln using the "Throw Throw Burritos" to get Chris.

After breakfast on Wednesday, we drove through Logan Canyon up to Bear Lake for the day.  We had great weather too!  The wind blew for a only a few minutes, then died down.  The sun was shinning, and it was about 82 degrees.  It was perfect!

Hudson, Abby and Dallin playing in the sand.  Nyles, Hudson and I on the kayaks.
Nyles on his new kayak for his birthday coming up.

Beach fun!

More playing in the sand and going out on the kayaks.  Chris building a sand turtle.

Girls turn on the kayaks: Barb, Pauline, Calley, Charlotte and myself.

Steve, Hudson, and Nyles out on the kayaks.  Cute Hudson taking a break in his car-seat.
Carter buried in the sand.  The sand turtle finished.

More fun in the sun!  Hudson wouldn't settle down for a nap, so I took him out on the kayak.  Pretty soon he fell asleep on the kayak.  I wanted to keep him asleep, so I kept kayaking around for an hour.
Abby, Dallin and Brady out on the kayaks.  Charlotte taking a turn.
Barb and Dallin out for a ride.  Hudson sitting on the kayak.

Calley and Lincoln playing in the sand.  Pauline and Chris going for a ride.  Ezra caught a frog.

Taking a break, playing in the sand and seagull on the sand turtle.

After playing at the lake, we went over to LaBeau's in Garden City for dinner, burgers and shakes, yumm!

Enjoying our food!  After dinner we headed back down the canyon back to the rental house in Smithfield.  The kids then enjoyed a movie while Barb and I worked on a puzzle and talked with Pauline, Chris and Steve.

Carter and Nyles in their beds.  Hudson during a nap the next day.

On Friday, after breakfast, we went to Logan and played at The Adventure Playground at the Whittier Center for a little while.

We then went over to the Logan River and walked around.

Beautiful scenery.

We then went back to the house for lunch.
After lunch we to Gossner cheese, then over to Logan Lanes to bowl.  We had a good time!

Good times bowling!  Brady had the highest score, beating Pauline by 1 point!

After bowling we went over to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, yumm!

They did a birthday yeehaw and gave ice cream to Pauline, Nyles, Barb and Hudson.

Nyles "took it for the team" and rode the saddle during the birthday yeehaw.

Pauline w/ her birthday ice cream.  Nyles riding the saddle and then later the kids in the theater room back in the rental house.

We had a fun last evening talking and playing games.  We also finished the puzzle.  It was a panda puzzle w/ 13 hidden pandas plus it glowed in the dark!

We all had a great time!  We had wonderful weather and a great time together.  Until next time....

The rest of the last week of July

Here are some highlights from the rest of the week after we got back from Bear Lake.

Steve took the boys to the Aquarium this week.  They enjoyed playing in the playground.  Hudson tried the toddler section for a little while, then he wanted to join his older brothers in the big kid area.  Surprisingly he was able to do it w/ little help from his brothers.  He is determined to keep up w/ them.

Cute boys having so much fun running around.

Hudson wearing his brother's helmet pad while they do martial arts.  Nyles getting another stripe on his belt (Carter got his too).  Nyles and Carter are both working hard and learning a lot in martial arts.

Cute boys playing and coloring in a box we got in the mail w/ diapers.
Carter picked a flower and wanted to give to Grandma, so Steve took a picture.

Nyles and Carter both trying to help Hudson up the slide.  Hudson got wet so we took off his clothes to dry.  Then he grabbed the water gun and tried to use it.  Such a silly kid.

Carter and Nyles trying to help Hudson up the slide, but then he wanted to go back down.

Friday after work we went over to the Aquarium again.  We finished their scavenger hunt finding the hidden sharks around the place, inside and outside, for Shark Week.  We then let the kids play at the playground again.

Checking out the penguins, running around the playground.

Paccu fish, and more fun at the playground.  Hudson keeping up w/ him.

My cute boys.  Cool turtle and looking at the sharks.

The boys on the zipline at the Aquarium.

After dinner and getting Hudson to bed, we played a game of Jenga.

While getting some groceries we saw another kayak on sale.  Nyles wanted to get it for his birthday, so we did.  It's an adult size, so he shouldn't outgrow it anytime soon.  He's on a little excited!

Nyles and Carter went to 2 birthday parties on Saturday.  One at the church for Clay Monson (neighbor).  They had a Nerf gun fight.  They came home for lunch, then went to the 2nd party for a girl that Nyles does martial arts with.  Her younger brother is Carter's age, so they both went and played.  They had a bouncy water slide, painted rocks and had pizza.  They had a great time at both parties.

Nyles w/ his new kayak.  Hudson was taking a bath and saw his tug boat, jumped on it, and said "Ride, boat."  So cute.   At the Nerf gun fight birthday party.

Great quotes.

Bear Lake Trip

On Monday, July 25th, we drove up to Rendevous Beach at Bear Lake.  We went through Evanston, Wyoming, stopping there to use the bathroom and get gas while we were there.  We got up there around 10:45am.  We were able to get a spot, set up our canopy and chairs, and get the kayaks in the water.  It was a beautiful day!

Nyles on his kayak, Steve w/ both Hudson and Carter on his kayak.

The boys enjoying the sun/sand.

Nyles and I going on a ride on our kayaks.  Hudson taking a ride again.

Around 3:30pm we went over and set up camp at our campsite nearby. After a successful trip to the Uintas, we figured we should go camping again.  We've never camped there as a family and decided we should try it.

Carter and Steve built a sand castle.  Nyles and I went on another ride out and around the floats to the end of the no wake zones.  Nyles playing in his hammock and Hudson getting some Cheetos.

Hudson enjoying the lake, getting our tents and hammock set up, then getting a fire.

Nyles enjoying his hammock.  After dinner we went back to the lake for another ride on the kayaks.

So peaceful and WAY less busy in the evening.  There were lots of sea shells too.

We then went back to camp, made a fire and some s'mores of course.

Nyles and Carter did a monkey dance to cheer up Hudson, then he joined in.

Carter giving Nyles a swing on the hammock.

We got ready for bed after s'mores.  Thankfully Hudson was more than ready for bed by the time we got settled down.  He fell right to sleep and didn't try to climb out this time.  He thankfully slept through the night as well.  It got a little cool, but not as cool as up in the Uintas, so we all stayed warm.

The next morning, the boys playing in the hammocks.  Hudson getting some breakfast.

We packed up all our stuff at camp after breakfast and headed back over to the lake.  We each took turns taking the kayaks out for a ride, which was so fun!  It was another beautiful day at the lake.  The weather was great!  The water is so clear and beautiful as well.

Cute Hudson getting some Cheetos again.  Carter getting buried in the sand.

Around 1pm we packed up and drove home after getting a milk shake.  We had a great time at the lake!  When we got home, Steve went and dropped the boys off at Martial Arts then went and picked up Piper at Dave/Joann's place while I unpacked.  We had had a lot of fun as a family and made some good memories.  I'm thankful for the time we have to spend together as a family and enjoy the beautiful nature around us.

3rd Week of July

Here are some highlights from the 3rd week of July.

My car keys have been missing/lost for the past month.  The past couple weeks we've been seriously praying as a family to find my keys.  I kept feeling like they were in the house, and since I always move them between bags, I thought they could be in a bag/backpack.  I checked in all the bags I thought I used recently (a couple backpacks and my church bag), but found nothing.  We also checked the cars, around the house, but still nothing.  We still couldn't find them, but I just knew and felt they had to be in the house somewhere.  There was always the possibility that somehow Hudson got them and put them somewhere.

Well, Wednesday I made an appointment to go do initiatories.  After changing and grabbing my temple bag, I looked into my bag to see if I had any family initiatory name cards to do.  Ironically I looked the night before and didn't see any initiatory name cards, but I wanted to double check one more time.  As I reached in to review what name cards I had, I saw something shinny.  I reached in and there were my car keys!  It was a miracle!  I had put them in my temple bag last month when Steve and I went together, but hadn't taken them out yet.  It made total sense.  The Lord does hear and answer our prayers.  I am so thankful for that and for answering my prayers, large and small.  I know he loves us.

I took a picture of my car keys as I walked out of the temple, to remind me that the Lord loves us, and always hears and answers our prayers.  It might not be on our timing, but he does answer them.

Thursday evening, Steve and Nyles went out fishing w/ our neighbor Rich Mitchell at Utah Lake.  They caught a few fish, then Steve cooked them up the next night.  Nyles caught the most fish!

Huson got his 2nd Covid shot this week and had a fever for several days.  It was a rough couple of nights needless to say.  Thankfully he started feeling better before the weekend.

Saturday we went for a short hike up to Lisa Falls.  The water is cool and felt great on our feet!

Cute Hudson.  American Flag hanging over a canyon in Sandy.

Sunday we had dinner w/ Dave, Joann, LuDean and Diane.  We played some fun Pioneer games and had a great time together.  We then went home to get Hudson to bed.  Nyles and Carter enjoyed some fireworks w/ the neighbors for the 24th of July celebration.

Cute kids watching and enjoying fireworks.

I'm so thankful for the pioneers and the Legacy they've left us.
We each have a Legacy of our own to leave as well.
