Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of April.
Monday night, we went to Thanksgiving Point for their Tulip Festival. They changed it so "members" have to pay additional if you want to go on a weekend (Fri-Sun), so we decided to go on Monday. It was a lot less busy since it wasn't a weekend, plus the weather was changing and less people were out. It cooled off, but we still had a great time. The Daffodils were out and a few Tulips. They were all so beautiful!
Pretty Daffodils!
Cute Pansies. Then we went through the "Light of the World" exhibit going through Christ's ministry and statue of when Christ and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith. It was very touching and the Spirit was strong. Though I love seeing the flowers, it was the highlight of our night. Somehow I've missed it the other times we've gone through the garden. I'm glad we were able to go through it.
Cute boys. Pretty blossoms on the tree. Tulips starting to bloom.
Carter w/ his Minecraft jacket on trying to take a little nap, and Nyles photobombing in the back :)
Ironically, after we got home that night, it started to rain, then turned to snow! We were glad I got off work a little early and we were able to go over before the weather changed. Our banister broke earlier, so Steve went and got new hardware to hold it up. Hudson was a big helper :)
Piper just snoozing away w/ her cute ear in the air. Snow coming down. Hudson wants to sit at the table w/ us so we push his high chair up to the table. He also wants to use the utensils, which he does pretty good going from his plate to his mouth.
We got a good amount of snow! Apparently the neighbors didn't notice and still had their sprinklers on, oops. Steve took Carter and Hudson to the Aquarium the next afternoon as it was cold outside, but they had some energy to get out. The animals were out to see thankfully!
Nyles' tooth was hurting, so Steve took him to the dentist the next morning. It was one of his teeth w/ a crown on it, so the Dentist took an x-ray. His adult tooth was coming in, faster than expected, so the Dentist decided to pull it. We were just at the Dentist in February, and he thought it wouldn't be in for 6 months. Apparently it was excited to come.
Wednesday evening, Steve took Nyles and Carter to the Rec Center to swim and practice w/ their snorkeling gear again. I went on a walk w/ Hudson around the neighborhood, but he fell asleep before we got home. I then gave him a bath and got him to bed. Apparently one of his socks dropped while getting him ready for the bath and I didn't see where it went. When Steve got home he found it on the toilet paper roll, a little camouflaged in. No wonder I didn't see it :)
We're getting excited for our Disney Cruise coming up at the end of the month.
Dave/Joann got shirts for the boys, which they love!
Thankfully the snow melted and our own Daffodils and Tulips bounced back and are starting to bloom.
I LOVE Springtime when the trees and flowers are blooming!
Friday afternoon while I was still working, Steve took the boys down to Thanksgiving Point to the "Farm" exhibit. They loved petting the animals, especially the goats.
Waiting for their turn to ride the horses.
Carter and Nyles had a great time riding the horses and ponies.
After I got off work, I went over to the Draper Temple and did a few initiatories before they got home. We then got a bite to eat, and went to a park and played for a bit.
The boys had fun swinging together on the big swing.
And we went down the slides and played on the teeter totter.
On Saturday, we cleaned and ran errands in preparation for leaving on the cruise the next weekend. We also dyed Easter Eggs. As we were folding laundry, Hudson grabbed a mask and put it on. Oh our Covid Baby (born in 2020). Masks are just normal to him :)
Carter and Nyles helped sing in our sacrament meeting w/ the Primary. Hudson was home taking a nap so Steve watched it on Zoom. Our red Tulips are blooming now too!
That evening we went over to LuDean/Diane's to have dinner together w/ them and Dave/Joann.
We then had a little Easter Egg Hunt for the boys on the front lawn. They had a lot of fun.
Thanks everyone! Hudson and Carter finding eggs.
And more eggs!
Carter and Nyles on the hunt for more of their eggs. Later that night we found Nyles like this. He used to move around a lot as a baby in his crib. He still sleeps all over his bed! Silly kid :)
We are so thankful for our Savior Jesus Christ. For his Atonement so we can repent, and for overcoming death so we can all live again. He does indeed live!
Here are some highlights from the first full week of April. The boys had Spring Break that week.
Cute Hudson catching a ride in the wagon while we take a walk. The beautiful trees in front of our house and Daffodils in the front yard. I LOVE Spring!
Hudson snuggling w/ Nyles. Nyles Lego temple looks a lot like the Jordan River Temple we were married in. Cute Hudson eating some Nutella w/ breadsticks.
They decided to go to Thanksgiving Point to the Curiosity Museum w/ Stacie, Phill, London Claire, Conor, Dave, Joann and Lynsie. They had a great time.
Carter and Steve. Nyles and Conor playing.
Cute Hudson w/ Steve looking at the fish and eating a cracker.
The next day they went back to Thanksgiving Point, this time to the Butterfly Biosphere w/ Dave and Lynsie. The boys holding butterflies.
After they came back to our place and played for a while. Dave took a little nap :)
Steve saw a pretty flower and thought of me :)
Silly Hudson was so tired he fell asleep while having a snack. On Wednesday, Steve, Dave and the boys drove all the way up to Caldwell, Idaho to get our beef that just got done. They called us that morning saying it was done, so they decided since the boys don't have school, and they're not open on the weekend, it would be best to just go that day. So they packed up and drove up in Dave's truck to Caldwell just before it closed. They were then going to stay at my parents place or w/ Barbara for the night, but they decided to just turn around and drive back home. They got back to Dave's place at 10:30pm, then switched back in our car, then came home. Needless to say, all 3 boys were really tired.
On Friday morning, Steve and the boys went out to Utah Lake to Millrace River to see what the water levels were. The river is really low!
Friday afternoon we went to the Hogle Zoo with Dave, Joann and Lynsie.
The weather was beautiful and it was a great day at the Zoo!
Enjoying some ice cream!
Carter by the Polar Bear. Hudson double spooning his ice cream. Lynsie and Carter on the Lions.
Hudson, Lynsie, Carter and Nyles in front of the elephant statue. Carter on the cats.
Hudson giving Piper some pets. He's working on petting her softly. We have Tulips in bloom!
Our peach tree and pear tree are also blooming!
Saturday morning the boys went to an Easter Egg Hunt w/ their martial arts group, then had pizza. Hudson was taking a nap so I stayed home w/ him and cleaned.
That afternoon Carter had a birthday party at a place called Impact Ninja. Nyles went there a couple weeks ago for a birthday party also. Carter had a great time!
Here are some highlights from the last week of March, going into April.
I love the blossoms on our trees! They are so cute and make me happy. With the nicer weather we've been going out on walks again. Hudson discovered the wagon and thinks it's the best! Carter had a cough so we had him wear a mask.
Funny thought. Silly Piper w/ her head off her bed. Wednesday evening we were able to go to the temple and do sealings w/ Dave and Joann. We put Hudson down for bed, then our neighbor Jacob Anderson came over. Nyles and Carter played w/ him, then went to bed. It was wonderful to do sealings, and even better to do them w/ Steve's parents. The temple is such a wonderful place to be!
Going on another walk. Piper enjoys coming along of course.
Cute boys! Steve teasing Hudson about his binky.
Hudson loves his binky and blankets and carries them around. Hudson also wants to sit at the table w/ everyone. Here he is eating a Gogurt w/ Carter. He did surprisingly really well.
On Friday, the boys had a marital arts graduation.
They showed off the skills they've been learning, then received their next belt.
Carter went from a white belt w/ a yellow stripe to a half yellow/half white belt.
Nyles went from a yellow belt to an orange belt. Everyone w/ their new belts.
Good work Nyles and Carter! They both have been working so hard and have done a great job.
We are so proud of them!
Saturday morning the boys got a call from Mickey Mouse telling them he's excited for them to come on the cruise w/ him in three weeks! We then watched and listen to General Conference. We passed out a few white pieces to each Primary kid to make a temple during General Conference. We also passed out packets to keep the Primary kids busy. We talked about ways to "Build" your testimony. One activity was included while you listen, as you find key words, you can get a Lego piece to build something.
3 ways to build a strong testimony:
Prayer - He knows, loves & wants the best for us.
Scriptures - Strengthens our faith and testimony.
Service - “When you are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” Mosiah 2:17, from President Thomas S. Monson
A little temple I built, Nyles large temple he built w/ all the white pieces we had, and Carter's temple. They did an awesome job and kept then busy for the whole morning session!
The boys took the boat out and went fishing Saturday evening.
They didn't catch any but still had a great time of course.
While the other boys were gone, Hudson, Piper and I played outside.
Hudson LOVES to play with water and is so happy we have the water table out again.
Piper loves getting a drink in it too.
On Sunday we were privileged to continue to listen to General Conference.
The boys continued w/ their Lego building. We had a LOT of Legos out, to say the least!
Sunday evening we went up to Centerville to Stacie/Phill's place for our family get together dinner and to have an Easter Egg Hunt. Jeff got a picture of all the grandkids w/ his drone.
Left to Right Back: Cameron, Ethan, Isaac, London Claire, Noah, Nyles, Conor, Carter and Chandler.
Left to Right Front: Lynsie, Alexa, Olivia and Hudson.
While the adults were hiding the Easter Eggs, Hudson had fun picking up his Easter Eggs twice! The 2nd time he figured out something was inside, specifically chocolate, and then he just wanted to eat the chocolate. Cute boy!
Nyles and Carter did a great job finding their eggs. They even helped others when they needed.
Some great quotes from General Conference.
We are so blessed and thankful to have a living prophet today!
