2nd week of October

Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of October.

Cute baby Hudson got tired while we were grocery shopping, so he put his head down on the Halloween candy bag while sucking on a sucker.  Hudson w/ a cute fall shirt on.  Nyles and Carter decorating their Halloween houses more.

Piper sleeping while wagging her tail.  So funny!

Hudson likes me to read the book " Good Morning, Good Night!" A touch and feel bedtime book (the animals have fuzzy textures), before going to bed every night.  Hudson crawled over to pet Piper.

Carter and Nyles earned another stripe on their belts, this time for perseverance.
They're both working really hard and doing a great job!

Cute "officer" Carter w/ the hat he made at preschool.  Hudson playing w/ some pop-its.
My pink Mum is finally blooming!

The boys didn't have school on Thursday or Friday due to UEA holiday.  They met up w/ Stacie and her kids and Dave at Thanksgiving Point's dinosaur museum, the museum of ancient life.

The boys operating on my stuffed animal bear with their tools.

Friday, October 15th, Steve and the boys went up to the cabin to help winterize it.  Joann came over and rode up w/ them also (Parley's was shut down due to an accident).  Hudson was a big helper getting things out of the fridge.  Rob came up the night before w/ Dave to help also.  They went fishing for a couple hours in the afternoon.  They also saw a Bald Eagle!

Hudson being his squeaky self.

Hudson telling Grandma Joann a story.

Though it was really cold (the boys wore their snow clothes), they caught a LOT of fish!
They each took turns reeling in the fish.

Nyles reeled in a really big Kokanee Salmon.  Unfortunately they had to release it since it's spawning season.  He did a great job though bringing it in.

Cute baby Hudson awake from his nap at the cabin.

Hudson checking out the new propane fireplace at the cabin.
Back at home, Hudson watching Piper eat one of her bones.

Saturday morning we went to Thanksgiving Point to see their scarecrow festival at Ashton Gardens.
It was really fun to see all the different scarecrows entered.  Here are some we really liked:
-Bernie Sanders (haha), Mike Wazowski and Sullivan, Godzilla, and a bird scarecrow.

Legoman, another Mike Wazowski, the mouse from "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" book and Dwight Schrute from the office.

The boys playing w/ leaves, cute Hudson enjoying the ride, and playing cornhole.

Nyles and Carter going down the slide.

Nyles and Carter playing w/ sticks, then going up the slide, and getting cotton candy.

Nyles and Carter w/ their cotton candy that tastes like Tiger's Blood.
It was shaped like a penguin as well.  It was a beautiful day and the festival was fun!

When we got back, Steve went to Farmington Bay to duck hunt.  He took Nyles, Carter, Rob and our neighbor Jacob Anderson as well.  The weather was nice, and they shot 1 duck.

On their way out at Farmington Bay.

Nyles showing off the Blue Wing Teal duck they shot.

While the boys were out hunting, Hudson, Piper and I hung out.  Hudson started "normal" crawling vs his army crawl that he normally does.  He's getting it down!

He likes to "play" with Piper also, like his brothers.

Sunday we made Halloween sugar cookies again.  We also made chicken noodle soup and took it down to have dinner w/ LuDean.  The boys operating on my bear again.  And Nyles and Carter playing w/ their shark blankets Aunt Diane made.

Great quote.

1st full week of October

Here are some highlights from the first full week of October.

Hudson loves to eat an egg for breakfast.  He also recently tried out a swing and loved it, then fell asleep on the way home from picking up Nyles at school  He also thought the washer was pretty cool to watch, spinning around.

Hudson says "ought oh" and then makes funny noises.

Carter and I made Jack-o-lantern Pizzas for dinner while Nyles was at his Martial Arts.  Carter stayed home since he had a cough.  He ended up staying home all week from preschool, just to be cautious and not spread it to anyone else.  He willingly wore a mask at home as well to try and avoid spreading it to the rest of us.  Turns our many kids in his preschool were also sick at the same time.

Thursday night the boys wanted to make a fire, roast marshmallows, and make S'mores.
Dave and Rob came over as well and joined us.

The boys rode their bikes for a few minutes also after eating their S'mores.
We are finally getting some rain!
The neighbors dog roamed over to our yard and Piper wanted to say hello through the front window.

Hudson so happy after waking up from a nap.  Nyles and Carter have continued to play w/ Magformers this week also.  They're having a lot of fun inventing different shapes and designs and playing w/ their inventions.

We went to Savers to look at costumes, and Carter tried on a couple.  Silly kid :)
We picked up a periscope kit for the boys to make from Lowe's.  I helped Carter put his together while Nyles went w/ Steve duck hunting on Saturday.  Carter thought it was pretty cool that I could see his eye in it.

Hudson has been enjoying his "car", both sitting on it and trying to walk behind it.  He's figuring it out.

Hudson catching a ride.

Hudson and Carter making noises through the marble tubes.
Carter playing w/ Nyles' snake and the Lincoln Logs.

We turned on the lights on the fireplace and Hudson thought they were pretty cool to watch!

Hudson playing w/ a car.

Steve and Nyles out at Farmington Bay waiting for the ducks.  Rob came w/ them also and another guy named Ivan.  It rained a little on them at first, but then it stopped.  They only recovered 1 duck that they shot (shot a total of 3-4), but they all had a great time.  Steve is loving the boat, to say the least.
Steve did a great job installing the lights on the outside of the boat as well.  They work great!
The boys played out in the sandbox Sunday afternoon.
Hudson only tried to eat a couple rocks this time:)

Nyles getting Cute Hudson up from his nap, playing peekaboo w/ his blanket.

That evening we went over to have dinner w/ LuDean, Diane, Dave and Joann.  I made cheeseburger soup and Diane made her yummy breadsticks.  Hudson ate several of them too!
Then the boys decorated Haunted Houses that Dave and Joann brought.  So fun!

The boys LOVED decorating them.  Hudson even enjoyed eating some chocolate.  Thanks for the fun!

Last of September, Start of October

Here are some highlights from the last week of September, starting into October.

Carter made a "Wild Thing" costume at preschool.  Hudson has figured out how to both stand and push the light button on the couches.

Hudson is so squeaky, plus he figured out how to turn on the lights on the couches.

Cute Hudson: driving the car at Home Depot (both steering wheels), eating his egg for breakfast (he likes one every morning), and his cute little bum in the air while sleeping.

Cute boys playing in the sandbox, and in the chair.  Nyles and Hudson both had their camo pants on.

We went to the Library.  They let the boys build a marble and Hot Wheels race track and test it out.

Nyles was wearing headphones at school.  Can you tell?  Pretty fall flower in bloom.
Cute baby Hudson w/ his but in the air again.

Friday evening Steve and Rob went out to get ready for Duck's Eve!  They found a spot and slept on the boat, ready for shooting light the next morning.

Since there is super low water conditions, hunters were extra close together, which isn't ideal.  They were still able to shoot 3 ducks though.  Success!

Hudson figured out how to climb the stairs... watch out!

Hudson going up more stairs.

Cute boys at the stairs (right before Hudson climbed up them).  After Steve got home, we watched General Conference together.  We went for a walk after the afternoon session, which was nice.

Hudson getting a book.

The boys played with Magformers both days of General Conference.  They made a many things, including a temple.  Cute Hudson watching conference.  We're so thankful to have a living prophet and to be able to listen to his words and other general authorities.

More Magformers creations by Nyles and Carter.
Steve gave all the boys hair cuts, including Hudson.  He did so great this time!  He didn't cry and actually smiled.  He got a little hair on his bum, so cute!  He loved his bath as always!

We went for a walk on Sunday as well in between sessions.
Hudson was fighting his nap, though he was super tired.

Great quotes.
