2nd Week of July- 17th Week of Quarantine

Summer is moving right along and sure is HOT.  Here are some highlights from the 2nd week of July.

Making tool benches from Home Depot.

The boys playing in the pool on a hot day.

The boys helping to hammer Carter's new dresser together.

Since the baby will be coming next month, we took the dresser Carter has been using and put it back in the nursery (it has a spot for a diaper changer to go on top).  We got a new one for him to use.  According to Steve, I've been "nesting."  I washed all the baby clothes for the first few months and got everything but the crib put back into the nursery.  My computer/office is still in there for now until I stop working towards the end of August.  The baby will sleep in our room for a couple weeks, so we'll set up the crib then.

Tada!  All done.

Carter putting together puzzles.

We decided to try a new spot to a waterfall called Battle Creek Falls, in Pleasant Grove.  It was pretty hot along the trail, but luckily there was a little shade.  The boys and Piper wanted to go check out the stream once we got it it as well.

They got some cool water and put in on their hats and arms to cool off.

We then crossed a bridge over the stream.

When Piper got to the other side of the bridge she decided to sit down and drink for a minute.

Nyles getting his hat wet again.  Piper cooling off as well.

Silly Piper!

We then saw this little cave, so the boys and Piper had to explore it.

Cheese!

Yeah, we made it to the waterfall!

Thankfully it was cooler next to the waterfall, so we stayed there for a little bit.

Pretty view.

Nyles, Carter and I (33 weeks pregnant).  He's getting heavy to say the least!

The boys playing in the stream w/ rocks.

Steve petting Piper.

More playing in the rocks/water.

Family picture by the waterfall.

Good thought and reminder.

Even more important to remember.

The Fireplace is Finished!

We finally got the fireplace finished.  Here is the before, progress and after.

Before (old log fireplace that didn't work).  Toys would pile up on the bottom.

Ripping out the mantle and brick.

The bottom bricks were especially hard to get out.

Then Steve started building the boxes/bookcases.

 Making progress.

Getting ready to paint.

All the painting is done.

Now putting them together and in place.

Both sides in.

Looking good!

Getting the ship-lap in and starting to build the fireplace mantle.

And the trim around the fireplace.

 Now paint.

We got the electric fireplace in place!

Then the tiling.  The boys helped :)

 Tiling done.

And grout, another coat of paint, then decorated!
Toys can now be put away and hidden :)

And then Steve ran the electricity for the fireplace to the circuit breaker panel.
The fireplace is touch screen and remote control;12 flame & LED flame bed color modes;5 flame speed modes; 5 flame brightness levels.  You can have heat or not.  It's pretty fun!

Before

After!

After (lights dimmed w/ the fireplace going).  Great work Steve!  You have serious skills and never cease to amaze me!  What started out as an idea on Pinterest became a reality!  Thanks honey!
