Beautiful flowers in bloom in our backyard!
Our pears are growing bigger.
And the peaches.
More Day Lillies.
Carter got a birthday hat from the Primary and some popcorn.
Friday we decided to head up to Bear Lake for the day. We left just before 7am, knowing it was going to be busy since it was a Friday, and a Holiday Weekend. We figured many people, like myself, probably had the day off, so it was going to be busy. We got there just after 9:30am and barely found a spot. We set up our canopy and saved room for Jeff/Kim's family next to ours. This gave us space away from others and we also were careful to distance ourselves from others while out on the lake too.
Nyles was so excited to ride around on his kayak.
Carter was excited to play in the sand.
Steve brought a shovel to dig faster. Good thinking!
Ya it was packed!
All around!
Jeff and Kim showed up just after 11am. We got their canopy set up, ate lunch, then everyone headed out in their kayaks. I stayed back under the canopy.
Steve brought our little Toboggan to help carry our stuff down to the beach, which worked out awesome! It also worked as little boat for Carter to sit in. It floats!
Cute Carter floating in the Toboggan and Nyles on his kayak.
Carter sitting on Nyles' Kayak w/ him.
Pulling in the kayaks.
Nyles getting a ride in.
Working on a moat now.
Carter getting some water w/ his bucket to help.
Then playing w/ his trucks.
We couldn't take Piper to the beach (no dogs allowed), so we had to leave her home. Thankfully Rob was able to come over once to let her out, then Dave and Joann came over later to let her out another time before we got home. They both played fetch w/ her for a while as well. That made her really happy! It was rather hot when Dave and Joann came by so Piper took a few breaks while playing fetch. She didn't want to stop though so she would take the ball and lay w/ it a while.
Cute Piper w/ her ball, taking a break in the shade.
We stayed at Bear Lake until pm, then packed up to come home. We stopped to get milk shakes of course, then headed down the canyon. We had to make a couple potty breaks, and to get dinner, but we made it home before 7pm. It was a fun fun day! We always enjoy going up to Bear Lake.
Saturday morning we made crepes. The boys were helpful and cut up the strawberries.
Cute Carter being silly w/ Piper's bone in his belt loop.
At our front door w/ a Flamingo.
The Flamingos have been making their way around the neighborhood, and we finally got them on the Saturday, the 4th of July! The boys were more than excited to see them!
Yeah for Flamingos!
Steve also made me a cutting board holder. The cutting boards were in a cupboard before and would get in the way and make a mess. Now we can access them easier, they're organized and don't take up extra room. Thanks Steve!
That evening we went over to LuDean's for dinner. We had a BBQ then played some games out in the garage. Diane had a really awesome game called "Pick it or Pop it." She tied balloons to the garage where we could either pop a balloon and see what's inside, or pick a prize from the table.
Carter taking a turn popping a balloon.
Nyles turn.
Carter's turn again.
My turn, and Carter again.
And again...
Picking prizes.
Nyles helping Carter find a "good one" to pop.
Carter helping me pop one too.
More prizes and Carter w/ some star sunglasses.
Steve's turn for the sunglasses.
Then some sorbet dessert, yummm :)
Firework time!
Enjoying the firework show.
Nyles helping to light the fireworks.
There were fireworks going off ALL over the place. It was pretty impressive!
Glow stick time!
Sunday afternoon we went for a stroll downtown at Memory Grove Park.
Cute boys and Piper sitting by the water taking a break.
Back at home, silly Piper trying to eat the water from the water gun.
We're so thankful and blessed to have our freedom in live in America.
