4th Week of November, 1st half of the week

Here are some highlights for the 1st half of the week before Thanksgiving.

Nyles and Carter w/ their Olaf  Lego boxes they made (free at Joann Fabrics).

Nyles is now playing basketball, Jr Jazz.  His friend Ryder asked him to play on their team.  It's a 3rd grade team (Nyles is only in 2nd grade), so he's trying to keep up.

Drills during practice.

And they're on 10 foot tall hoops, so it's a little high.

Cute Carter w/ his preschool turkey hat he made.

My parents came down Tuesday to get ahead of the snow storms.  I took work off Wednesday.  It wasn't snowing that morning, so we took them to the Aquarium.

At the Aquarium w/ my mom and dad.

Looking at fish.

Going across the bridge

More animals.

White faced whistling ducks.

Blue Macaw.

Watching the pennies go down.

After lunch Pauline and the kids came over to visit.
Mom holding cute baby Lincoln.

Nyles and Ezra went outside to build a snowman.

Then Carter went out to join then.
Carter going down the slide.

Nyles used a board to get the large snowball on top of the other one.

They did it!  "Do you want to build a snowman?"

After Pauline left we started making pies.
Carter and Nyles helping w/ the graham cracker crust.

Several hours later we were done!
2 apple, 1 cherry, 1 lemon meringue, and a blackberry and mixed berry cheesecake.

Perfectly toasted!

3rd Week of November

We had a busy week this past week w/ work and school.  Steve was able to go help w/ baptisms for the dead w/ the youth this week and I did initiatories another night though.  Here are a few other highlights.

Flashback--Nyles in 2015 (3 years old), then in 2019 (7 years old).

The boys thought it would be fun to have a fire in the backyard while playing outside!

Nyles warming up from the fire after running around in the back yard.
Carter and Steve helped Dave put up a big inflatable snowman in his backyard.

Saturday morning we took the boys to make a free Frozen Olaf Lego Box.

That afternoon I took the boys over to the school playground for a little while to play.

Nyles is getting so strong!

Cute Carter!

Getting dizzy!

And across the money bars.

And they had to roll down the hill of course.

Steve went out duck hunting w/ our neighbor Bo Jensen and his son Jayden.

They didn't get any ducks, but had a good time anyway!

I liked this analogy w/ popcorn!

A good reminder!

2nd Week of November

Here are some highlights from the week.

Steve made some "upgrades" to his boat.

He painted it to be more camouflaged and added other camouflage.

Friday Steve went out w/ Dave to Jordanelle to so some fishing.  They asked Nyles if he wanted to go, which he did, but he didn't want to miss his pancake pajama day at school.  His teacher also said they could bring a small stuffed animal to school, which was the final straw encouraging Nyles to go to school.  Though they didn't get many fish, they had a good time.  Carter enjoyed a ring pop while fishing w/ Steve and Grandpa Dave.

Grandpa helping Carter w/ the fishing pole.

Then snuggling up w/ Grandpa as the wind picked up.

And then he fell asleep.

They caught a big fish earlier, but it flipped off just as they were going to net it.  They caught a smaller fish towards the end of their trip though, so it was worth it :)

They then ran up to the cabin to put some things away.
Carter took the opportunity to play in the gravel of course.

Happy boy!

Saturday Steve let me sleep in a little.  He and the boys cleaned up inside, then went outside and raked leaves.  Nyles was a big helper!  To pick up the last leaves I mowed the lawn as well.

Steve then cleaned Nyles fish tank and we switched the boys beds.  Nyles had the full bed and Carter had the queen bed, and since Nyles and his room are bigger, we decided to switch them.

Nyles w/ his new bed (our old set) and clean fish tank.

Carter's "new" bed.

Sunday we had a unique opportunity to listen to an Apostle, Elder Neil A Andersen at our stake center.  It was a great meeting and the Spirit was strong.

After church we went over to Pauline's place for lunch.  Carter got a "new" Paw Patrol backpack from Ezra.  He also wanted to hold baby Lincoln again.  He kept telling me that he could put the binky in all by himself :)

We then went over to Herriman Park and let the kids play and run around for a while.

Carter loves the slides.

Nyles and Ezra played w/ swords.

Getting a spin.

Carter at the little kids playhouse.

Swinging together.

More swings.

Carter figured out the zip-line and thought it was awesome!

We then went back to their place to watch the young meeting about the new Church program for kids 8 and up.  The new program should be wonderful for the youth.  It will help them learn to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and work on goals they set to improve their lives.

Good quote.
