Carter playing w/ Steve's phone at church (trying to keep him happy after Nyles and I left to go set up chairs in Primary). Cowboy Carter and Old Man Carter, hahah!

After church and dinner we went up Little Cottonwood Canyon for a short Sunday drive. Up the canyon a little ways we parked and then went for a short walk/hike to Lisa Falls. It was a pretty sight to see and the boys loved the water. It was also a little cooler in temperature up the canyon which was nice. We've been about 100 degrees all Summer! So hot!
Carter and Nyles on the way up to the falls. Steve and Carter in front of the falls.
Cute Carter. So pretty and relaxing to be at the falls.
Nyles and Steve by the rocks near the falls.
Enjoying the falls.
Throwing rocks in the water now.
Cheese!
The water was a little cold.
Getting a drink of water.
Playing in the water downstream from the falls.
Giving the tree a hug :)
Steve and I made it to Draper Temple and did a session together after the boys were in bed. Thanks Joann for watching.
Steve went to help clean up his grandma's yard and found a wasp's nest.
And the deer just roaming around our neighborhood again....
Carter looking out our window and hanging off the shopping cart.
Now Nyles playing w/ the phone stickers at the pool.
Pretzels at the pool.
Nyles did some reading this Summer and got certificates for free food. Carter helping eat a burger from In-N-Out and Nyles enjoying his ice cream cone from Arctic Circle.
That night after getting Carter to bed, we let Nyles stay up to do fireworks w/ the neighbors for the 24th of July. Nyles said he's old enough now to stay up ;)
Cameron, Kaitlyn and Nyles looking for the parachute firework.
Doing sparklers.
Kaitlyn and Nyles being silly.
More sparklers.
Nyles riding the horse Carter got for his birthday.
Now chasing Carter on the horse.
Carter pushing Nyles in the John Deere truck, now Nyles pushing Carter.
Silly boys.
Carter and Nyles were invited to our neighbor Clay Evan's 3rd birthday. They held it at the park next to the Cottonwood Heights Fire Station. Carter was still sleeping when it started, so we hurried over as quick as we could once he got up. We made it just in time for the tour of the fire station, which Nyles LOVED! He was so excited he brought his fireman's jacket and helmet to wear, even though it was 100 degrees outside and just as hot in the station.
Carter and Nyles looking at the big firetruck.
Listening to the fireman explain about the truck.
After the tour they had a fire truck pinata (ironically it was the same one Nyles had for his 3rd birthday).
Nyles was a big help since he was the biggest/oldest kid there.
Candy/toy time! Surprisingly the kids were really calm getting their stuff.
Carter was eating his yogurt and spilled some, so he slurped it up w/ his mouth.
Cool Carter w/ his sunglasses.
We also had the Spanish missionaries over Friday night for dinner. I cooked a some pork in our Instant Pot the night before (Kalua Pork), and Steve got the rice and veggies ready just before they came. It was good having them in our home and discussing missionary work.
Great quote.
