Here is a quick update from the last part of March, mostly in pictures. We're looking forward to Spring to say the least. The boys are getting anxious to play outside on a regular basis.
Nyles and Carter playing "pilot."
Downstairs playing, Carter found the St. Patrick's day sunglasses.
Cheese! Cute Carter!
We got Carter a little monkey backpack. It has a rope that attaches, so when we go to stores or other places we can keep track of him easier. He likes wearing it around too just for fun.
Carter jumping on Nyles before heading to church. You know the usual routine...
More progress on the floor. The lath starting to be laid down now (thin wire). We didn't want to use cement board since we don't have much height next to the hardwood floor in the other room.
Nyles and Carter talking on phones aka bananas. Silly boys.
I went and did initiatories this past week one day after work. Steve went w/ the Young Men/Women from our ward and did baptisms for the dead earlier in the month at the Draper Temple. He got to baptize several of the kids as well. He said it was a great experience. It's always great to make it to the temple and enjoy the peace that you feel there, no matter what work you're doing while there.
Nyles ended up coming down w/ the flu this past week, so he stayed home from school all but one day. When he had a little energy he played on the Ipad or watched a movie. I picked him up a couple DVDs from the library as well to watch. Carter ended up getting Croup as well. The Dr said it was a way the flu appeared in him. By the weekend Carter ended up w/ an ear infection as well. Poor little guy. Luckily he started feeling better a couple days later w/ the antibiotics on board.
Steve left Friday night to go w/ the Young Men down to the Little Sahara Desert. They camped overnight there and came back Saturday afternoon. I was able to get off work a little early so they could leave by 4pm Friday. After getting home Steve left, then I loaded up the boys and went to the park. It was as beautiful sunny Spring day and the boys were ready to get outside for a while.
Carter loving the swing, and going down the slide on his own now.
Nyles feeding the ducks/geese, and riding his bike.
Steve w/ the Young Men at the Little Saharah Dessert.
Around a camp fire that night.
Steve stayed in an ice shanty for his tent, and slept on a cot.
He's creative, you have to give him that ;)
He tied up the ice shanty to make sure it wouldn't blow away.
The young men jumping off the sand dunes.
Steve taking a selfie at the dunes; cutie! Carter putting stickers on himself.
The next week, Joann came to sit w/ the boys so Steve could go w/ the Young Men to the Jordan River Temple Open House (they left before I got off work). She gave Carter a fruit by the foot and put it around his wrist. It kept him busy for a while, and didn't get his hands sticky. Win, win!
I gave my last lesson in Nyles' CTR 5 class the week before General Conference. I was released then set apart as the 1st Counselor in the Primary. So now I get to see Nyles in sharing time instead. Though I was really enjoying being his teacher, at least I'll still be w/ him in Primary and get to teach sharing time now.
Great quotes, before General Conference.
I'll post Easter pics next...
