Other October Outings

Hard to believe it's officially November now, but it is!  Steve is excited because that means colder weather is on its way and of course it's close to his birthday!  I have a feeling this month is going to go by fast.  I'm taking a couple days off work so Steve can go hunting, plus a couple for Thanksgiving.  I'll also have about 2 weeks off in December, yeah!

I am finishing my last class now on Estate Planning, then I'll have my capstone class in a few weeks to finish it off.  I'll be done before Christmas, yeah!  Steve is busy w/ his classes as well.  He only has a month and a half left w/ them too.  Well need to sign up this week for his classes for Spring Semester as well.  Nyles is learning things everyday.  He amazes us w/ the things he says and does.  It's incredible how much they learn in a just a few years.  Lately his favorite movie has been "Despicable Me 2."  A few weeks ago he saw it in our movie baskets and now he wants to watch it every day.  He says "Minions" :)

As we were checking out of Winco the other day Nyles saw these Mike and Ike w/ the Minions on them and just had to get them.  Silly kid!

Nyles has learned if he gets his stool he can reach a lot more things, including his sound machine.

Nyles loves pretending to drive the tractor at Wheeler Farm

Steve and Nyles chilling in a big box.  Nyles loves to play in boxes.

We've had such nice weather this month we just had to enjoy it.  After church one Sunday we went to a park in Sandy and Nyles pushed his truck around.  He wanted to pull it, so Steve gave him his belt as a string.  Nyles thought it was the best!

He likes to take the top off and sit on it too.

Steve has been helping w/ some yard.  He helped his Grandma LuDean trim her rose buses.  Nyles just playing outside by daddy.

Steve also helped rake up some leaves at Dave/Joann's place.  Nyles thought it was fun to help rake.  Then of course he had to jump in them too!

Steve has been doing quite a bunch of duck hunting, imagine that.  He's been going up to Strawberry Reservoir and Farmington Bay w/ some friends of his.  He's been recruiting some too :)  He's actually gone this morning at Farmington Bay again w/ some friends.

All set up at Strawberry

Another time set up at Farmington Bay

On Saturday, October 25th, for Ezra's 1st birthday, Pauline invited us to a Pumpkin Patch in Orem to celebrate.  We went through a corn maze, played on some jump houses, and played on a playground.  We then went back to Chris' Aunt Marilyn's house for pizza and cake and ice cream.  It was another beautiful fall day!

Family picture time!

Steve was supposed to be gone up to Northern Utah w/ my dad and his dad to go deer hunting, but both Steve and his dad Dave were both sick, so we they reschedule for this coming Monday.  I was glad Steve was able to go to the party though.  After the party, we were thankfully able to find a babysitter last minute and were able to do to the temple and do initiatories as well.  It's always a blessing to go to the temple.  We're still working through family names that Rose and Uncle Stephen Naylor gave us.  We are hoping to do sealings in November w/ Rose and Pauline; we have a lot to do!

The next Sunday, October 26th, we had a surprise party for Dave's 60th Birthday at Melanie and Brandon's house.  Melanie and Joann decided to do a mustache party, in honor of Dave when he used to have a mustache.  We all got there early, put on mustaches, and sat on the stairs to surprise him as he came in the door.  He was completely surprised; it was great.  We had pizza for dinner (Dave's favorite), and played a guessing game about Dave.  It was a lot of fun.  Here are some pics.

Mustaches!

More mustaches on the candy jars

We had so much fun in October, we can't wait to see what November brings :)

Halloween Happenings....

Last Friday, October 24th, my work had a Halloween Party for the kids/family.  Nyles was so excited to wear his costume.  I had gone to a couple places looking for a Halloween Costume earlier in the month, but every time I asked Nyles to try one on he would say "No, no."  So finally after a few times and no luck, I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween and he said "Tractor."  So I looked around on Pinterest and found you could make one out of a box.  It seemed simple enough, so I showed Steve the picture and asked him to make it.  We used one of his diaper boxes and wallah, we had a tractor!  Steve said Nyles wanted to try it on the whole time during the car ride up to my work.  Here are some pics from my work party:

Nyles wanted to keep wearing his tractor after we got outside.
It was a beautiful day too!

He even sat down to watch the water fountains for a while

Taking a break on the way to the car

On our way home we stopped to help Dave unload the trailer, so Nyles pretended to drive the Tahoe.  He loves to "drive."

Last night, October 31st, we went over the to Lake's House in Draper for dinner and trick-or-treating with cousins.  It was a lot of fun.  It was Nyles official first time to Trick-or-Treat.  Last year we did a Trunk-or-Treat.  He did pretty well.  He thought it was fun to get candy, but mostly wanted to eat the candy after getting it.  After a few houses he sat down on a bench and said, "Done."  Conor was a house in front of us and was done too, so we went back.  It was after 7pm by then, so we packed up our stuff and headed home a little while after.  Here are some pics from the evening:
