I can't believe today is the last day of September. This month has sure gone by fast. I need to do a quick update before I forgot.

We have been getting SOOO much rain again this month. We received almost 2 inches just in one day on Saturday. There has been crazy lightening storms and thunder. Nyles likes to stop in his tracks and his eyes get big, then he says "Tunder." It's so cute!
Nyles and I went to the playground one Saturday afternoon while Steve was gone at the cabin. He's getting so big now. He can get up on things he used to not be able to reach. Speaking of reaching, he can now reach the doorknobs! We tried putting on door knobs which make it harder for him to turn, but he figured it out really quick and actually just took it off. A lot of good that did. He also figured out he can reach the lights if he stands on something.
Something else really cute from Nyles. A little while ago, Nyles accidentally hit my foot (on the top which hurt), so I asked him to say sorry. I got down on my knees and again asked Nyles to say he was sorry. He then looked at me and then leaned up to me and gave me a kiss on my cheek. He then turned my face and kissed me on the other cheek. It melted my heart. Since then on any time he's done something wrong, he usually gives us a kiss instead of saying sorry. We'll take it though. Such a cutie!

We almost lost his silly stuffed dog yesterday. He brought it into Savers w/ us and we accidentally left it as i was hurrying to get out to go change his diaper. After we got out of Wal-Mart Nyles said "dog, dog." I looked around, but it wasn't in the car. I then knew that we left it at Savers. We then hurried back, and luckily found it. Nyles was SOOO happy we found it!

My mom and dad came down for a quick trip to attend the funeral of Aunt Vauna. Steve took them to Scheels before they had to head out. Nyles had a great time driving the cart around.

We went to the Aquarium this past Saturday since it was so rainy outside. There is a new playground open in the Aquarium. Nyles had a lot of fun going down the slides.

We also watched the 4-D movie called "The Last Reef.'" It was only 20 minutes and had smells, air and water spray/mist. Nyles didn't like the water mists, but he sure thought it was fun sitting in the big seat by himself. :) It was fun trying new things at the Aquarium in addition to our "usual" things, especially on a crazy rainy day.
We've had a few unexpected expenses this month. The first was our battery died in the Corolla. We tried a few things to see if it would take a charge, but after another day w/ no change we figured we needed to just replace it. Thankfully I was able to search online and was able to save us $40 and price-matched it at Big O'Tires. Yeah for price-matching!
The second large expense was Nyles Epipen renewal. It's now been a year since we learned about his allergy, so when he has his 2 year appointment the Pediatrician reminded us to check the expiration dates on his Epipens. Sure enough they were expiring this month. Last year we were on my HMO at work and I was able to find a deal where they would pay our copay 100%, so we paid nothing. I looked it up and they were doing it again this year. I expected to not pay anything like last year, but when it came up it was over $400. I had them run the free copay and it brought it down to $250. I asked if that was right, then I remembered we are on the high deductible this year. Luckily I've been putting money aside in our HSA, so I was able to use that to pay for it. Definitely one of those things I forgot about, but I'm sure we'll be making that expense every year going forward, so we'll need to plan for it. Regardless the cost, it's something we need to have just in case. Certainly worth it if it's ever needed.
In addition to all this fun this month, I was also able to finish my 5th CFP Class on Retirement Planning. It was still a lot of information but not nearly as hard as the tax class I finished before this. I was able to stay on track this time and finished a week early. I really enjoy learning the material, but I also enjoy being done w/ all the tests as well. It's nice taking a break and being able to focus more on my family. I start my next class on Estate Planning next week. This is the last section, then just a wrap up for 3 days in December. Almost done!
Steve and I also went to the broadcast of the Ogden Temple Rededication on September 21st. We asked our neighbor Dave Thomas to come sit w/ Nyles while we went over. We thought Nyles might be ready for a nap, but he wanted to play instead. Dave said he was fine though. We offered to watch their little 3 month old boy Calvin, but didn't take us up on it. We attended the first session at 10am. It was really incredible! There were different speakers, of course all who spoke about the temple and the importance of them. The Spirit was really strong. It definitely strengthened my testimony of temple work. President Monson mentioned three things we need to remember 1) Love the Temple 2) Appreciate the Temple and 3) Attend the Temple. It was a beautiful rededication. We are so incredibly blessed to have Temples in our day and especially to have them so close. Thankfully Steve and I were able to attend that Friday. Our neighbor Rachel came over and stayed at the house while Nyles was asleep. Steve and I both did names from the Brosius family that Rose found, related to the Hegerhorsts. We now have a LOT of names to take and get sealed, both from Rose and Uncle Steve Naylor. We'll need to plan a time to go w/ Rose and Pauline soon. I can't wait.
Here comes October, Halloween and all the fun festivities of the last of the year. I can't believe how fast this year is going. We need to enjoy it while we can, especially our time w/ family. Love ya lots!
