3rd Week of April - 5th Week of Quarantine

We had another fun week at home, in quarantine.  I've been busy at work, and Steve helping Nyles and Carter with school.  Here are some highlights.

The neighbors gave Carter an old scooter.  He was so excited to try it on our walk.

Nyles and Piper playing in the playhouse.

Pretty yellow tulips in bloom!

And 2 pretty purple tulips.

The boys taking turns riding their scooters and bikes in the back yard.

Piper playing fetch, her favorite thing.

Carter doing some drawing.

Nyles playing fetch w/ Piper on the slide.

We went to my 20 week ultrasound appointment.  Our cute baby boy is growing and is healthy!  Unfortunately Steve couldn't be in the room for the ultrasound, due to the risk of the Corona virus, so we video chatted while he was in the waiting room.  Steve was aware of everything she was scanning.  He could have done my appointment!
Carter being silly w/ some whistles on his head.

Our cute baby boy!

Nyles being silly w/ an apple slice.  Carter loving his unicorn Aunt Diane gave him for Easter.

More Unicorn while doing homework.

Carter took a picture of Steve doing some sewing/mending.

Then we gave Piper her 1st bath at our house.

She did really good actually!

Nyles waiving to his teachers as they drive past.

We took Piper to Draper Park.  She liked the duck pond.

And the boys of course had to roll down the hill a few times.  Piper wanted to go w/ them.

Cute boys on the bridge.

Another pretty tulip.

Then the boys wanted to have a "fire" and make s'mores.

Talking to my mom on the phone.
Piper checking out the fire and waiting for someone to throw her ball.

Piper passed out, falling off her bed.  Silly dog.

Then Carter taking a turn driving the "Jeep" home.

Cute Carter.

Sunday, Nyles and I made chocolate cupcakes together.  We used the kid's recipe book my mom sent and made some in ice cream cones.  Thanks mom!  The kids thought it was fun and yummy!

With the extra batter we made a heart shaped cake.  The cake was so yummy!

Carter eating his cupcake in an ice cream cone.

That afternoon we went for a walk w/ Piper.

Piper's ready to go!

Beautiful scenery.

It was a fun walk in nature.

The boys wore crowns, pretending to be "King Benjamin" for our Called to Serve lesson in the book of Mormon this week.  We learned about when we serve others we are serving God.

Earlier in the week someone from the neighborhood came and took photos for everyone.
Here are a couple she took.

We love our cute boys and excited for another one in August :)

2nd Week of April - 4th Week of Quarantine

The week of April 6th, the boys had Spring Break.  It was a much needed break for both of them, and Steve!  Though we couldn't go anywhere, it was still a nice break from school work.  I took Friday off too.  Here are some highlights.

Still finding shelves empty at the stores.  The boys excited for watermelon!

The boys talked Steve into getting a watermelon at the store.  It was super yummy!  I have been craving watermelon again like I did w/ the other 2 boys.  Thank goodness summer is around the corner.  Yummy watermelon.

Getting tickled by Grandpa.

Carter taking a turn driving the Jeep.

 Pretty rainbow for our walk!

We've been thinking and praying about getting a dog.  The boys, especially Nyles, has been asking for several years.  We've been looking at dogs online at the Humane Society and we finally found one we were interested in meeting.  So, Tuesday night we went to see a dog named Piper at the Humane Society in Murray.  At first she was really shy and timid around us.  Her tail was in between her legs and she kept her head down.

Then after a few minutes of giving her some space and petting her, she started to perk up.  She especially started to come alive after we found a stick to play fetch with.

Piper excited about playing fetch. Carter about to throw the stick.

Nyles taking a turn throwing the stick.

He loves it and so does Nyles.

After praying about it over night, we decided to adopt the dog.  Steve and the boys went back to get her the next day.  Needless to say the boys were a little excited to bring her home.

I came out to see her in between appointments.

We had an old tennis ball to play fetch with.  She was super excited to run in the yard.

She even knows how to sit.

More fetch.

Also knows how to lay down.

Piper finding some shade in the yard.

Getting some food.

Carter supervising.

Taking Piper out for a family walk.

Then back in the yard.  Nyles throwing the ball from the slide.

I love the beautiful blossoms coming up, this one on our peach tree.

And our pear tree.

Just relaxing.

Cool clouds on our walk.

Nyles giving Piper snuggles.  Piper taking a nap on her bed finally!

Friday I took the day off to take a break.  We went over to the chiropractor that morning.  Carter waited w/ Piper and Steve outside (playing w/ bubbles), while Nyles and I went in to the chiropractor.

My hips/pelvic region has been so sore and out of wack, I've been going to the chiropractor to get adjust.  I finally buckled down and got an "office chair" to support me better.  Plus I can turn to get out now w/out throwing off my hips.  My desk also raises so I can stand up throughout the day.  Since I'll be working more from home, figured it was worth the investment.  My hips are doing better w/ everything, including the chiropractor adjustments.  What our body goes through for the baby, right?

After the chiropractor we went over to Dave/Joann's to show them Piper for a few minutes.
Dave enjoyed playing fetch w/ her.

Piper enjoyed it too.

We then went on a walk at Crestwood Park.  Nyles took a turn pulling Carter :)

The boys jumping on the trampoline while Piper eats her bone.

Yeah, our first tulip in bloom!

Saturday morning we hid a couple Easter eggs for the kids and a sack of goodies (like my mom/dad do).  The boys were sad we couldn't go up to visit them this Easter like we do every year.

An another!

That evening the boys wanted to have a "fire" so we did.  We made s'mores and tried cooking bread.

It was a good time!

Steve throwing Piper the ball while the boys climb the slide behind him.

Then smashing into him.

Silly Piper!

I ordered a recipe kit online for Nyles to continue helping him learn to cook.  The kit came w/ recipes and a few free item, like a powdered sugar bottle, gingerbread cookie cutter, and mustaches.
Sunday morning Nyles learned how to make French Toast.

He wasn't sure if he'd like them, but he did!  Nyles liked his with strawberries and whip cream.

Yummy breakfast.

Then Dave/Joann came over to hide the boys' Easter eggs.  Carter finding his eggs.

More eggs!

That afternoon we went on a nature scavenger hunt.  The boys checking out what we need to find.

Carter decided to take a break in the wagon.  He actually fell asleep in it.

Cute Carter asleep in the wagon.

Carter just passed out enjoying his ride.

I love flowers!

Yellow one coming out.

And 2 purple ones!

Nyles and I made up the gingerbread dough the day before, then we cooked them on Sunday and decorated them.  The boy love the gingerbread man story, and now the cookies!

Our decorated gingerbread men.

Carter giving Piper some love.

Yep, pretty much sums it up how it feels at times.

Well we're a month into this now.  Guess we'll see how long it lasts.  We're all in this together.  The Lord loves us and is watching out for us.
