1st Half of February

Here are some highlights from the first half of February.

On Saturday, February 1st, Steve went over to his parent's house to put in more can lights in their kitchen.

And also another one above the front door.

Nyles and Carter were big helpers :)

Light in above the front door, yeah!

And lights in the kitchen!

The boys wanted to play in Dave/Joann's bathtub while Steve finished up the lights.

On Sunday, February 2nd, we went to Jeff/Kim's house for our monthly family dinner.
Jeff got the hot tub ready so the kids got in!

Lynsie, Carter, London, Conor, Nyles and Alexa.

We sang Happy Birthday to Carrie, Alexa, and me.

It was also the Super Bowl so they had the game on.

I worked on the puzzle while the kids played.

Many people came and helped and at least got one piece in.

We made good progress by the end of the night.

The next morning, Monday, February 3rd, we got hammered with a snow storm.  School was cancelled across the valley and so did the Universities, so Steve stayed home w/ the boys while I worked from home.  It was kindof ironic because the day before "Groundhog's Day" he said we'd have an early spring.  Hopefully soon!

It was as strange storm in that everyone in the valley got from 1-2 feet of snow, while the mountains only got 4-6 inches.   It was backwards for sure.  They said it was the most snow we've seen in the valley in 7 years!

Steve working w/ the snow blower to clear out the driveway.

Our stairs covered in the snow and Carter trying to walk through it.

It just kept coming.

The boys playing in it in the back.

The boys making a fort w/ the trampoline.

Our neighbor Brad Barton was kind enough to plow the neighborhood and our circle (he lives in the circle too) since the city plows were backed up.  He also cleared many people's driveways.

Nyles working on their fort some more.

Rob was down in California for the week so Steve went over and dug out his driveway as well.

He then went over to help Dave w/ his driveway since his snow machine wasn't working.

Dave w/ all his snow!

Later Dave's basement bathroom flooded w/ sewer.  After a plumber fixed the pipes Dave decided they wanted to just redo the bathroom, so Friday Steve came over and ripped everything out.

Steve w/ the mirror and cabinets in the little trailer.

Carter played in the bath while he worked.

That afternoon after Nyles got out of school, Steve came back and they took the load to the dump.
They think it's pretty fun to watch the loaders work.

Friday night we went over to Jeff/Kim's house to work on the puzzle and let the kids play.
Carter had fun riding on the hover board w/ Issac.

He thought it was pretty fun!

We made really good progress!

The boys also tried their virtual reality game.

Alexa and Nyles looking at their bird they got from Christmas.

 More progress.

Haha Steve.....

On Saturday, February 8th, Nyles finished his last Jr Jazz basketball game.
Everyone got a medal and a certificate of achievement.

Nyles w/ his team and coach.
Nyles worked hard and learned a lot his 1st time playing basketball.

After his game, they packed up and went ice fishing at Pineview this time.

Dave fishing.  They caught a lot of little perch.

Nyles had a good time catching this time!

Nyles and our neighbor Jacob.

They finally caught fish.  The spell is broken!

While they were gone, Carter and I ran some errands
We then met Stacie, Phill, London and Conor at the Aquarium.

Conor and Carter sitting on the turtle.

Carter wanted to watch one movie before we left.

They took the fish back to Dave's house to filet.  Steve cooked it up the next day.

On Sunday, February 9th, Chris told us that Pauline had 3 seizures and was in the hospital.  He brought the kids over to stay w/ us while they worked w/ the Drs on what they needed to do.  The boys enjoyed having them over, especially baby Lincoln.  They all tried to make him smile.

The next day, Monday, February 10th was my birthday!
I made my cake and we had Dave/Joann for pizza.

Nyles and Carter helped to blow out the candles.

Steve and the boys got me beautiful flowers and chocolate, my favorites!  Thanks boys!

Thank you all for the wonderful and thoughtful birthday wishes; I really appreciated it!
The boys picked out the Paw Patrol birthday card for me too, gotta love it ;)

On Tuesday for YM, the boys learned how to make empanadas.

They made lots and had a good time.

Unfortunately Nyles came down w/ the flu on Wednesday, February 12th, so he missed school on Thursday and Friday.  The Dr started him on Tamaflu Wednesday night so his fever broke by the next morning, but we kept him home just to be safe.  Steve took his Valentine's box in for him so he could still participate in the candy/card exchange, which made him happy ;)

Carter w/ his cute preschool Valentine's crown they made.
Nyles' Valentine box (Minecraft treasure chest) that Steve made for him.

Great quote.
